We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer with 5+ years of experience who has owned systems, not just features. The candidate should be able to architect services end to end, make and defend technology decisions under real constraints, scale and operate systems in production, lead incidents, and raise the engineering standard of the teams around them. We expect quantified reasoning (QPS, p99, cost), honest failure stories, and a bias toward simplicity.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the architecture of one or more services: boundaries, contracts, data ownership, evolution path.
- Lead design reviews and write ADRs; drive decisions to a conclusion rather than a discussion.
- Scale systems through the next order of magnitude, layer by layer, with data behind each change.
- Design the data layer: partitioning, sharding strategy, replication topology, zero-downtime schema evolution.
- Lead major upgrades and migrations without freezing feature delivery.
- Define SLOs, error budgets, alerting policy and on-call practice; lead incident response and blameless postmortems.
- Own the delivery platform: CI/CD, progressive delivery, preview environments, DORA metrics.




- Make infrastructure cost a first-class design input.
- Mentor mid-level engineers; set governance for metaprogramming, dependencies and platform paved roads.
- Argue for the boring architecture when it is the right one.

Required Skills

- Ruby/Rails: runtime choices (MRI/JRuby/TruffleRuby, YJIT), CoW and Puma tuning, modular monolith design, multi-tenancy, event-driven Rails, gradual typing adoption, large-codebase maintainability.
- JavaScript/Node: frontend architecture at scale, Core Web Vitals, bundle strategy, SSR/CSR/SSG trade-offs, resilient API client design, Node gateway design, observability blueprints, SLO enforcement.
- Databases: high-write data layer design, sharding and resharding, CAP/PACELC in practice, multi-region topology, distributed transactions and sagas, CDC, HA and failover testing, capacity planning.
- Architecture: feed/messaging/payments/dispatch-class system design, cell-based architecture, blast-radius containment, build-vs-buy frameworks, compliance and PII design, architecture governance across many teams.
- Deployment/Linux: Kubernetes at scale, GitOps, progressive delivery, supply-chain security, disaster recovery, FinOps, deep performance methodology (USE method, perf/eBPF).
