Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai for a Fresher (Mechanical) in New Product Development and Sourcing. The role involves supporting the design and development of new mechanical components and assemblies, working closely with engineering teams to translate customer requirements into manufacturable solutions. The candidate will assist in preparing CAD models and drawings, coordinating with suppliers for sourcing of parts and materials,



and participating in cost estimation and quotation activities.

Day-to-day tasks include basic inspection of mechanical parts, documentation of technical specifications, tracking samples and proto builds, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in product performance and manufacturability. The role also requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, learning and adhering to quality standards, and maintaining accurate records within project and sourcing workflows.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong foundational knowledge in Mechanical Engineering, with an understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Candidates should possess skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for creating 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical components.
- Candidates should possess abilities in Maintenance and basic Inspection of mechanical parts, focusing on quality, fitment, and functional checks.
- Candidates should possess exposure or interest in Automotive and related mechanical systems, components, and industry standards.
- Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Ability to learn quickly, follow engineering and sourcing procedures, and work collaboratively in a production and supply chain environment.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
- Familiarity with basic MS Office tools and willingness to work in an on-site manufacturing setting.
