Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager with robust knowledge of accounting and hands-on experience in the freight forwarding and logistics industry. The candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, financial reporting, receivables, payables, and coordination with internal teams, customers, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliation.
- Handle accounting transactions related to freight forwarding, shipping, import/export, and logistics operations.
- Prepare and verify customer invoices, vendor bills, debit notes, credit notes, and payment records.
- Monitor customer outstanding payments and coordinate with the sales/operations teams for timely collections.
- Manage vendor payments and ensure proper verification of supporting documents.
- Reconcile customer and vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of freight, shipment, clearing, transportation, and other operational expenses.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports, ageing reports, expense statements, and other management reports.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable GST, TDS, and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, banks, customers, and vendors as required.




- Monitor cash flow and support management in financial planning and reporting.
- Ensure proper documentation and adherence to company accounting policies and procedures.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.
- Supervise and guide junior accounting staff, where applicable.

Freight Forwarding Industry Experience The candidate should have practical knowledge of accounting processes related to:
- Freight forwarding and logistics operations
- Import and export shipments
- Air freight and sea freight transactions
- Freight and handling charges
- Customer billing and vendor payments
- Job-wise profitability and shipment-related expenses
- Overseas agent/vendor reconciliation
- Debit notes and credit notes
- Freight invoices and operational cost reconciliation

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Tally / ERP / accounting software
- Good understanding of GST and TDS
- Strong Excel and MIS reporting skills
- Excellent knowledge of accounts payable and receivable
- Good reconciliation and analytical skills
- Solid attention to detail
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple accounting activities and meet deadlines

Qualification B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification.

Experience

5–8 years of relevant experience, with mandatory or preferred experience in freight forwarding, logistics, shipping, or related industries.

Preference: Candidates currently working or having prior experience with freight forwarding companies will be preferred.
