: Head of Finance

Location: Chennai

Salary / Budget: Up to 1.5 Lakh per month

Experience Required: 5+ Years (Hands-on, All-Round Accounting & Finance)

Qualification: Qualified CA or semi-qualified / preparing for Chartered Accountancy (CA Inter / Final)

Position Summary

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Head of Finance to take complete ownership of our end-to-end financial operations. This role requires hands-on expertise across all accounting functionsincluding general ledger, payroll, tax compliance, invoicing, financial reporting, and audit support. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of practical accounting experience and possesses the technical rigor of a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or someone actively pursuing their CA certification.

Key Responsibilities

1. Full-Spectrum Accounting & Financial Operations

- Manage end-to-end accounting operations: Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, and General Ledger maintenance.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books, Profit & Loss (P&L;) statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow statements.
- Oversee asset tracking, inventory accounting, depreciation schedules, and trial balance reconciliation.

2. Tax Compliance & Statutory Filings

- Ensure strict adherence to direct and indirect tax regulations (GST, TDS/TCS, Advance Tax, and Corporate Income Tax).
- File timely statutory returns (GST, TDS, Provident Fund, ESI) and reconcile tax ledgers against portal data (e.g., GSTR-2B matching).
- Lead statutory audit, internal audit, and tax audit preparations, serving as the direct point of contact for external auditors.

3. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Cash Flow

- Lead annual budgeting,



periodic forecasting, and variance analysis (Actuals vs. Budget).
- Monitor working capital and maintain rolling 12-month cash flow projections to optimize liquidity.
- Provide regular financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership to guide strategic decisions.

4. Team Leadership & Internal Controls

- Lead, mentor, and oversee a team of junior accountants and bookkeepers.
- Establish, implement, and enforce internal financial controls, SOPs, and authorization workflows.
- Review and approve daily payment runs, expense claims, and vendor payouts.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Educational / Professional:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) OR semi-qualified CA (CA Inter / CA Final candidate actively preparing for exams).
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (B.Com / M.Com).

- Experience:
- 5+ years of progressive hands-on experience covering all functions of accounting and finance.
- Demonstrated track record of handling end-to-end books of accounts independently.

- Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced knowledge of accounting software (Tally Prime, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle ERP).
- Expertise in MS Excel / Google Sheets (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Financial Modeling, Advanced Formulas).
- In-depth understanding of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), GST guidelines, and Income Tax laws.

- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Clear oral and written communication skills for dealing with leadership, tax authorities, and auditors.
- Solid leadership capabilities to build and manage a finance team.

Prior experience in the healthcare, hospital, or clinical sector is strongly preferred.
