Purpose of the Position

We are looking for an experienced and safety-conscious Field Operator – Calcium Chloride to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Calcium Chloride (CaCl₂) plant.

The role will be responsible for monitoring and controlling plant parameters, operating field equipment, supporting startup and shutdown activities, responding to abnormal and emergency conditions, and ensuring smooth plant operations in coordination with the Shift Incharge, DCS Supervisor, Maintenance, Instrumentation, and Utility teams.

The incumbent will also be responsible for maintaining operational records, following SOPs and EHS requirements, and ensuring high standards of housekeeping and safety within the assigned plant area.

Key Individual Accountabilities

1. Plant Operation

* Monitor and control plant parameters under the guidance of the Shift Incharge / DCS Supervisor.
- Operate field equipment such as pumps, valves, conveyors, fans, dryers, and utilities as per established SOPs.
- Ensure startup, shutdown, and emergency operations are carried out safely and in accordance with prescribed procedures.
- Support the DCS Supervisor in maintaining stable plant operation through timely field feedback and coordination.
- Check and maintain process parameters including temperature, pressure, flow, and level within prescribed operating limits.
- Conduct regular field rounds and monitor equipment and process conditions.
- Report abnormal operating conditions, process deviations, equipment malfunctions, leaks, or other abnormalities immediately to the concerned supervisor.
- Ensure proper equipment line-up and operating conditions during normal and abnormal plant operations.

1. Equipment Operation & Monitoring

* Operate and monitor field equipment to ensure reliable and continuous plant operation.
- Check equipment condition and identify abnormal noise, vibration, leakage, temperature, pressure, or other operating abnormalities.
- Coordinate with the DCS Operator and Shift Incharge regarding changes in field operating conditions.
- Assist in process adjustments as instructed by the Shift Incharge / DCS Supervisor.
- Support equipment isolation and restoration activities as per approved procedures.
- Assist Maintenance teams during equipment inspection, repair, and restoration activities.

1. Startup, Shutdown & Emergency Operations

* Carry out plant startup and shutdown activities as per approved SOPs and instructions.
- Ensure correct field line-up and equipment readiness before startup.
- Follow prescribed procedures during planned and unplanned shutdowns.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and abnormal plant conditions.
- Follow emergency response procedures and immediately communicate critical deviations to the Shift Incharge / DCS Supervisor.
- Support secure stabilization and isolation of equipment during emergency conditions.

1. Housekeeping & Safety





* Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping in the assigned plant area.
- Follow all plant safety rules, procedures, and work instructions.
- Ensure appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used during all field activities.
- Identify, report, and assist in resolving unsafe conditions and potential hazards.
- Report near-miss incidents and support corrective actions as required.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, emergency drills, and training sessions.
- Follow safe chemical handling procedures and ensure adherence to applicable EHS requirements.
- Maintain safety discipline during routine operations, maintenance activities, startup, shutdown, and emergency situations.

1. Documentation & Reporting

* Record daily process readings, equipment status, and production data accurately in designated log sheets.
- Assist in preparing daily shift reports and operational logbooks.
- Maintain records related to production, downtime, equipment status, and material consumption.
- Report abnormal readings, process deviations, equipment issues, and other operational observations to the concerned supervisor.
- Ensure timely and accurate handover of operational information between shifts.

1. Coordination & Teamwork

* Coordinate with the DCS Operator, Maintenance, Instrumentation, and Utility teams for smooth plant operation.

- Provide timely field feedback to the DCS Supervisor and Shift Incharge.
- Assist in minor maintenance activities or process adjustments as instructed.
- Support preventive maintenance activities and planned shutdown activities.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams during equipment isolation, maintenance, startup, and restoration.
- Maintain effective communication with shift team members to ensure safe and uninterrupted plant operations.

Technical & Behavioral Skills & Knowledge
- B.Sc. / Diploma with 4+ years of experience in a continuous process chemical plant, preferably in *Calcium Chloride (CaCl₂) operations.
- Good understanding of chemical process operations.
- Understanding of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;).
- Understanding of DCS operation concepts.
- Knowledge of field equipment such as pumps, valves, conveyors, fans, dryers,



and associated utilities.
- Understanding of chemical handling and safe operating practices.
- Basic troubleshooting and observation skills.
- Ability to identify process abnormalities and equipment malfunctions.
- Good teamwork and coordination ability.
- Strong safety and housekeeping awareness.
- Ability to follow SOPs, operating instructions, and safety procedures.
- Willingness to work in shifts and field conditions.
- Good communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Work Conditions

- Shift-based role requiring regular presence in the plant field area.
- Continuous monitoring and operation of plant equipment and process parameters.

- May require working during startup, shutdown, maintenance, and emergency situations.
- Exposure to chemical plant operating conditions; strict adherence to PPE and EHS requirements is mandatory.
- Willingness to work in rotating shifts and field conditions is essential.
