Key Responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the steel fabrication factory and ensure smooth workflow across all production activities.
- Plan, organize, and monitor fabrication activities to achieve production targets and delivery schedules.
- Supervise fabrication processes including material preparation, cutting, fitting, welding, grinding, drilling, assembly, and finishing.
- Manage and allocate manpower including fabricators, fitters, welders, helpers, machine operators, supervisors, and other shop-floor personnel.
- Monitor manpower productivity and ensure effective utilization of workers and equipment.
- Coordinate with engineering, planning, procurement, quality, maintenance, stores, and project/site teams.
- Read and interpret mechanical, fabrication, assembly, and engineering drawings and ensure work is executed according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Guide supervisors, fabricators, and fitters regarding drawings, dimensions, tolerances, fabrication sequence, and production requirements.




- Monitor material availability and coordinate with stores/procurement to avoid production delays.
- Ensure optimum utilization of steel materials and consumables and control fabrication wastage.
- Monitor production progress against schedules and take corrective action when delays or bottlenecks occur.
- Ensure fabricated components meet required dimensions, tolerances, welding, workmanship, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate inspections and rectification of fabrication defects or non-conforming work.
- Ensure proper operation and utilization of fabrication machinery and coordinate preventive/breakdown maintenance.
- Enforce shop-floor safety, housekeeping, discipline, and protected working practices.
- Maintain production records and provide regular reports on production output, manpower utilization, material consumption, delays, and operational issues to management.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, fabrication methods, workflow, quality, cost control, and overall factory efficiency.
