nAbout the Role:

nNMT Automation is looking for an experienced Factory Discipline & Operations Excellence Consultant from the automotive/manufacturing sector to strengthen shop-floor discipline, operational practices and adherence to defined systems and SOPs.

n

nThe person will bring strong automotive factory culture and shop-floor discipline into the organization and work closely with managers, supervisors and employees to build a culture of process adherence, accountability, ethics, safety, quality and operational excellence.

nThis is a hands-on shop-floor role for someone who has practical experience managing manufacturing environments and can lead behavioral and operational change through presence, coaching and example.

nKey Responsibilities:

n1. Shop-Floor Discipline & Governance

n

n
- Drive skilled factory discipline and adherence to established shop-floor practices.
n
- Monitor daily shop-floor practices, employee discipline, housekeeping and workplace behavior.
n
- Work with managers and supervisors to establish clear accountability for people, processes and productivity.
n
- Identify gaps in discipline and operational practices and ensure timely corrective action.
n
- Bring automotive industry standards and manufacturing discipline into the organization.
n

n2. SOP & Process Adherence

n

n
- Drive strict adherence to SOPs, work instructions, quality standards and defined processes.
n
- Conduct regular shop-floor audits to identify deviations and non-compliance.
n
- Coach employees and managers on the “why” behind SOP adherence, rather than relying only on enforcement.
n
- Establish mechanisms for tracking recurring deviations and ensuring closure.
n

n3. Employee Training & Capability Building

n

- Design and conduct practical training programmes for shop-floor employees and managers.
n
- Train employees on:

- SOP adherence

- Workplace discipline

- Quality consciousness

- Escalation and reporting protocols

- Coach managers and supervisors on effective people management and shop-floor leadership.

n4. Factory Culture & Behavior

- Help build a culture of discipline, ownership, integrity and respect.

- Identify behavioral patterns that impact productivity, quality, safety or employee morale.
n
- Work with leadership to reinforce expected behaviors consistently across levels.
n
- Act as a role model for professional and ethical conduct.

n5. Manager & Supervisor Effectiveness

n

- Mentor managers and supervisors on managing the shop floor effectively.
n
- Strengthen daily management routines, reviews and accountability mechanisms.
n
- Help managers transition from reactive firefighting to structured, process-driven management.
n
- Conduct regular reviews with functional leaders and highlight key operational and behavioral gaps.
n

n6. Continuous Improvement

n

n
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, discipline and process compliance.
n
- Introduce relevant practices from automotive and mature manufacturing environments.
n
- Support implementation of initiatives such as 5S, visual management, daily management systems, root-cause analysis and standard work.
n
- Track improvement initiatives and report progress to the leadership team.
n

nWhat We Are Looking For:

n

n
- 15+ years of relevant experience in automotive, auto components or a highly disciplined manufacturing environment.
n
- Prior experience in plant / factory / shop-floor management is strongly preferred.
n
- Experience working with production teams, supervisors, operators and factory managers.
n
- Strong understanding of SOPs, work instructions, quality systems, safety and manufacturing discipline.
n
- Proven experience in employee training, coaching and behavioural change.
n




- Strong understanding of 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, visual management and daily management systems.
n
- Ability to influence managers and employees without relying solely on positional authority.
n
- Strong personal integrity, maturity and professional ethics.
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
n
- Hands-on, practical and comfortable spending significant time on the shop floor.
