Develop the nRF9151 DK firmware and peer-side behavior needed to carry control and audio traffic over DECT NR+ and integrate it with the Android host.
Key responsibilities
- Establish a reproducible nRF Connect SDK build, programming and debugging workflow with compatible NR+ firmware.
- Bring up a working NR+ link with an appropriate peer and implement the application data path.
- Define the host command/data protocol, framing, flow control, buffering, status reporting and error handling with the BSP and Android engineers.
- Implement configured warm standby, explicit activation/deactivation and positive state confirmation.
- Ensure the standby device does not autonomously resume communication after resets, reconnects or errors.
- Measure activation, association, payload throughput, packet loss and latency under the intended audio/control load.
- Implement watchdog/recovery behavior and diagnostic logging.
Required skills
- Robust embedded C; Zephyr or comparable RTOS development.
- nRF Connect SDK or closely related Nordic development experience.
- CMake, Ninja, west, Zephyr Kconfig/devicetree and GCC-based embedded cross-toolchains.
- UART/SPI peripheral communication, asynchronous events, memory constraints and flow control.
- Wireless protocol debugging and packetized data transport.
- SWD/J-Link debugging and reproducible firmware builds.
Preferred skills
- Direct DECT NR+ or nRF91 experience; candidates with only BLE experience should demonstrate readiness for the NR+ networking work.
- IPv6, UDP, audio packet transport and firmware power-state management.
Expected outcomes Working NR+ host and peer firmware, a documented host protocol, verified standby behavior, and measured readiness/switching performance.
