EMBEDDED FIRMWARE ENGINEER
Job Summary
We are looking for a technically strong and hands-on Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our R&D; Team and contribute to the development of embedded products and electronic systems.
The role involves firmware development, microcontroller programming, hardware bring-up, peripheral integration, communication protocols, debugging, testing and optimization of embedded systems.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working at both the firmware and hardware interface level, with the ability to develop reliable firmware, bring up new hardware, integrate peripherals and systematically troubleshoot hardware–software issues.
The engineer will participate in the complete embedded product development cycle—from understanding requirements and designing firmware architecture to implementation, debugging, validation, optimization and product release.
Job Role & Responsibilities:
· Develop, test, debug and maintain embedded firmware for microcontroller-based electronic products.
· Design and implement firmware architecture based on product requirements and hardware specifications.
· Develop firmware primarily using Embedded C/C for ARM Cortex-M and other microcontroller platforms.
· Perform microcontroller and PCB bring-up, including initialization and validation of hardware peripherals and interfaces.
· Develop and integrate low-level drivers for sensors, displays, memory devices, communication modules, actuators and other electronic peripherals.
· Work with embedded interfaces including UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, GPIO, PWM, ADC, timers and DMA.
· Implement interrupt-driven and real-time firmware for embedded applications.
· Develop and integrate firmware communication protocols between microcontrollers, sensors, modules and external systems.
· Integrate and validate different sensors, communication modules, displays, motors, relays and other electronic peripherals.
· Work with RTOS-based systems, including task management, synchronization, queues, timers and inter-task communication.
· Perform firmware-level debugging and identify root causes of hardware–software integration issues.
· Use debugging and laboratory tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters and JTAG/SWD debuggers.
· Develop diagnostic and test firmware for hardware validation, prototype testing and production testing.
· Optimize firmware for performance, memory usage, timing, reliability and power consumption.
· Implement system-level features such as watchdogs, fault detection, error handling, parameter storage and recovery mechanisms.
· Support bootloader development, firmware flashing and firmware update mechanisms.
· Work closely with hardware engineers during schematic review, PCB bring-up, prototype development and hardware validation.
· Troubleshoot firmware and hardware issues during development and product testing and implement appropriate corrective actions.
· Maintain firmware source code, documentation, configuration records, version history and release builds.
· Use Git or other version-control systems for firmware development and release management.
· Research and evaluate new microcontrollers, sensors, communication technologies and embedded platforms for future products.
· Collaborate with hardware, software, mechanical and testing teams to resolve cross-functional technical issues.
· Support engineering validation, product testing and field-level troubleshooting when required.
Technical Skills Required:
· Strong programming skills in Embedded C.
· Good working knowledge of C/C .
· Hands-on experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers, preferably STM32.
· Strong understanding of microcontroller architecture and peripheral configuration.
· Good working knowledge of GPIO, Timers, PWM, ADC, DMA, Interrupts, UART, SPI, I2C, CAN and USB.
· Experience with STM32CubeIDE, STM32CubeMX or equivalent embedded development tools.
· Understanding of RTOS concepts, preferably FreeRTOS.
· Good understanding of embedded memory, firmware architecture and microcontroller boot processes.
· Experience with JTAG/SWD debugging and firmware programming tools.
· Ability to read and understand electronic schematics, PCB interfaces and component datasheets.
· Ability to perform hardware–firmware debugging and PCB bring-up.
· Understanding of real-time systems and timing-critical applications.
· Familiarity with Git or other version-control systems.
· Ability to use oscilloscopes and logic analyzers for debugging communication, timing and hardware-interface problems.
· Good understanding of software development, debugging and testing practices for embedded systems.
Preferred Skills:
· Hands-on experience with STM32F4/F7/H7 or similar microcontrollers.
· Experience developing firmware for custom PCBs and embedded products.
· Experience with FreeRTOS or other RTOS platforms.
· Experience developing low-level peripheral drivers.
· Experience with bootloaders and firmware update mechanisms.
· Experience with communication protocols such as CAN, RS485, Modbus, USB or Ethernet.
· Experience integrating wireless communication modules such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE, LoRa or other RF modules.
· Experience with sensor integration, data acquisition and signal processing.
· Experience with power-management and low-power embedded applications.
· Basic Python scripting for testing, automation, serial communication or data analysis.
· Exposure to embedded Linux or Linux-based development is an advantage.
· Experience with J-Link, ST-Link, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and other embedded debugging tools.
· Experience with automated firmware testing or hardware-in-loop testing is desirable.
· Understanding of EMI/EMC considerations in embedded product development is an advantage.
· Ability to independently study datasheets, reference designs, application notes and technical documentation.
· Solid analytical approach to debugging, root-cause analysis and engineering problem solving.
· Ability to independently research and integrate unfamiliar embedded technologies.
Experience:
· 1 to 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in embedded firmware development.
· Practical experience with microcontrollers and embedded hardware is required.
· Experience with STM32 or ARM Cortex-M platforms will be strongly preferred.
· Experience in embedded product development, industrial electronics, robotics, IoT, automation, consumer electronics, automotive electronics or related fields will be valuable.
· Candidates with only theoretical knowledge or academic projects without substantial hands-on firmware development experience will not be preferred.
· Experience across both firmware and hardware aspects of embedded-system development will be highly valued.
· Engineering background in Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electrical, Embedded Systems, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Robotics or related disciplines is preferred.
· Candidates with strong hands-on project or research experience in embedded systems are encouraged to apply.

Salary/Compensation:
