We are looking for a highly experienced and technically knowledgeable E-Waste Recycling Consultant who can work closely with our management and technical teams to establish, streamline and operate the facility in compliance with applicable environmental regulations and industry standards.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in e-waste recycling plants, rather than only documentation or consultancy experience.
Key Responsibilities1. E-Waste Recycling Operations
- Advise management on the complete end-to-end e-waste recycling process, from receipt and storage of waste through dismantling, segregation, shredding, material recovery and final processing.
- Develop and review practical SOPs for different e-waste streams including:
- Electrical and electronic equipment
- Cables and wires
- Printed circuit boards (PCBs)
- Ferrous and non-ferrous metals
- Plastics
- Refrigerators, ACs and other appliances
- Lithium-ion and other waste batteries
- Optimize material recovery, process efficiency, manpower utilization and plant throughput.
- Review plant machinery, process flow, equipment capacity and production yields.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend technically and commercially viable solutions.
- Establish systems for safe handling, storage and movement of incoming e-waste and recovered materials.
1. CPCB / HSPCB / Regulatory Compliance
- Provide expert guidance regarding CPCB, HSPCB and applicable Central/State environmental regulations governing e-waste recycling.
- Assist the company in obtaining, maintaining and renewing applicable approvals, registrations and authorizations.
- Advise on:
- E-Waste Management Rules
- EPR requirements
- Recycler registration
- Hazardous Waste authorization
- Battery Waste Management Rules
- Consent to Establish / Consent to Operate
- Environmental compliance requirements
- Record keeping and statutory reporting
- Coordinate with relevant government authorities and assist management during inspections, queries, meetings and compliance proceedings.
- Keep the company updated on changes in environmental regulations and CPCB/HSPCB procedures.
1. EPR & Documentation
- Provide practical guidance on the EPR framework for e-waste and batteries.
- Assist in maintaining proper documentation and traceability of:
- Procurement
- Incoming waste
- Processing
- Material recovery
- Recovered products
- Dispatch/sales
- EPR certificates/credits
- Review invoices, production records, material balances and other documentation required for regulatory compliance.
- Establish systems to ensure that plant records are consistent with CPCB/EPR requirements.
1. Battery Recycling
- Provide technical and regulatory guidance for lithium-ion battery recycling, including batteries originating from consumer electronics and electric vehicles.
- Advise on appropriate battery handling, dismantling, discharge, shredding and downstream recovery processes.
- Provide guidance regarding hydrometallurgical / pyrometallurgical and other suitable recovery technologies.
- Advise on recovery of materials such as lithium, cobalt, nickel, manganese, copper, aluminium and other valuable materials.
- Ensure appropriate safety procedures for damaged, defective and end-of-life lithium-ion batteries.
1. Environmental, Health & Safety
- Develop and review procedures for safe handling of hazardous materials and process residues.
- Advise on management of hazardous waste, ETP sludge,
used oil, process residues and other waste generated during recycling.
- Review ETP/STP operations from a compliance and operational perspective.
- Assist in developing emergency response procedures for fire, chemical exposure, battery thermal events and other plant emergencies.
- Ensure appropriate occupational health and safety practices are implemented throughout the facility.
1. Plant Setup & Commissioning
- Support the management team during plant commissioning and trial production.
- Review machinery installation, process flow and equipment suitability.
- Coordinate with machinery suppliers and technical teams where required.
- Verify whether installed machinery is capable of achieving the proposed production capacities.
- Assist with trial runs, process optimization and establishment of standard operating parameters.
- Develop production and material-balance systems to monitor input, output, recovery and process losses.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Environmental Science, Waste Management or a related technical field.
- 5–10+ years of relevant industry experience, preferably in e-waste recycling, battery recycling, metal recovery or waste-management operations.
- Strong practical understanding of Indian e-waste and environmental regulations.
- Demonstrated experience working with CPCB / SPCB requirements.
- Practical experience in operating, commissioning or managing an e-waste recycling facility.
- Solid knowledge of e-waste processing technologies and material recovery.
- Experience with EPR and regulatory documentation.
- Good understanding of hazardous waste management and environmental compliance.
Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹2,500,000.00 per year
