Senior Backend Developer – ASP.NET Core | APIs | Kubernetes | Messaging

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer with strong expertise in ASP.NET Core, RESTful API development, API Gateway technologies, NGINX, Kubernetes, and message queue-based architectures. The role involves designing, developing, deploying, and supporting scalable microservices and backend platforms for enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using ASP.NET Core and contemporary .NET versions.
- Develop, document, version, and support RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization using JWT, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and enterprise identity providers.
- Integrate APIs with internal platforms, databases, devices, and third-party enterprise systems.

API Management and NGINX

- Design and implement API Gateway solutions using NGINX, Kong, Apigee, Azure API Management, or Kubernetes Ingress Controllers.
- Configure routing, load balancing, TLS termination, throttling, caching, rate limiting, request transformation, and security policies.
- Maintain API specifications using Swagger/OpenAPI and enforce consistent API governance standards.

Containerization and Kubernetes

- Containerize backend services using Docker and deploy them to Kubernetes-based environments.
- Configure Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Ingress, health probes, resource limits, and Horizontal Pod Autoscaling.




- Use Helm charts or equivalent deployment packaging and troubleshoot application issues across Kubernetes clusters.

Messaging and Event-Driven Architecture

- Design asynchronous, event-driven integrations using Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, ActiveMQ, or equivalent platforms.
- Build resilient message producers and consumers with idempotency, retries, dead-letter queues, ordering, and error-handling strategies.
- Monitor message processing, diagnose failures, and support reliable delivery across distributed services.

Performance, Reliability, and Support

- Optimize application performance, scalability, security, resilience, and availability.
- Implement structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, dashboards, and alerting.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

CI/CD, Quality, and Governance

- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent tools.
- Write unit, integration, contract, and automated tests using appropriate .NET testing frameworks.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture reviews, threat modeling, release readiness, and technical documentation.
- Follow secure coding practices, Agile delivery methods, SDLC controls, and enterprise engineering standards.

Required Technical Skills

* Backend: C#, ASP.NET Core, Web API, Entity Framework Core, LINQ, dependency injection, asynchronous programming

- API Engineering: REST, Swagger/OpenAPI, API versioning, OAuth 2.0, JWT, OpenID Connect
- Gateway and Proxy: NGINX, Kubernetes Ingress, Kong,



Apigee, or Azure API Management
- Containers: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, AKS/EKS/OpenShift or equivalent managed platforms
- Messaging: Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, ActiveMQ, event-driven architecture
- Data: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle; MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
- Engineering Tools: Git, Azure DevOps/GitHub/Jenkins, Postman, SonarQube, CI/CD pipelines
- Testing: xUnit, NUnit, MSTest, Moq, integration testing, API contract testing

Preferred Qualifications

* Microsoft Azure, AWS, or another major cloud platform
- Microservices patterns, Domain-Driven Design, CQRS, event sourcing, or Dapr
- Redis, gRPC, SignalR, service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Bicep
- Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Application Insights, or comparable observability platforms
- High-availability, transportation, payment processing, fare collection, financial, or other enterprise systems

Education & Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of professional backend development experience, including hands-on delivery with ASP.NET Core and API-based systems
- Relevant Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, cloud, or security certifications are preferred
