Key Responsibilities

- Training Planning & Coordination

- Support the Programme Manager in developing district-level training and capacity-building plans aligned with the Back to School Programme implementation plan.
- Identify training needs of programme staff, school stakeholders and other relevant stakeholders based on programme requirements and field-level observations.
- Develop training schedules, session plans and implementation calendars in coordination with the programme team.
- Coordinate training logistics, participant mobilisation, venues, materials and other requirements to ensure smooth delivery of training programmes.
- Maintain training calendars and track completion of planned training activities.

- Training Delivery & Facilitation

- Facilitate orientations, workshops, training sessions and refresher sessions for programme staff and relevant school/community stakeholders.




- Ensure training sessions are participatory, practical and aligned with the objectives and implementation requirements of the Back to School Programme.
- Support participants in understanding programme processes, roles, responsibilities and expected outcomes.

- Capacity Building of Programme Teams

- Support District Programme Officers and other field team members in developing the knowledge and skills required for effective programme implementation.
- Conduct regular field-based mentoring, observation and supportive supervision of programme staff.
- Identify gaps in understanding or implementation and provide targeted coaching and support.
- Work with the Programme Specialist to strengthen the capacity of the district team based on emerging programme needs.

- School & Stakeholder Capacity Building

- Support orientations and capacity-building activities for school leaders, teachers and other relevant stakeholders involved in the Back to School Programme.
- Help stakeholders understand their roles in supporting the identification, mobilisation, enrolment and continued engagement of children with education.
- Facilitate discussions with school and community stakeholders to identify implementation challenges and possible solutions.

- Field Support, Learning & Documentation





- Undertake regular field visits to schools and programme locations to understand implementation needs and provide training-related support.
- Document field-level learning, valuable practices, challenges and examples of effective implementation.
- Capture feedback from programme staff and school stakeholders to inform improvements in training approaches and resources.
- Contribute to programme review meetings by sharing insights from training and field observations.

Essential Requirements

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Policy, Management or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in training, capacity building, education programmes, teacher development or social sector programmes.
- Experience in designing, facilitating or coordinating training and workshops.
- Experience working with schools, teachers, programme teams and/or government stakeholders.
- Experience in field-based programme implementation and coordination.
- Understanding of the government school education system and experience working with government stakeholders would be an advantage.
- Experience in developing or adapting training materials and facilitation resources.
- Strong documentation, reporting and coordination skills.

Additional Information

This is a field-intensive role requiring regular travel to schools, communities and programme locations across Ahilyanagar/Ahmednagar district. The District Training Officer will be expected to work closely with field teams and stakeholders and respond to emerging training and capacity-building needs during programme implementation.
