Director — Interior Commercial Design

About The Role

We are looking for a Director of Interior Commercial Design with an experience of 10-20 years to own our India Excellence Centre end-to-end. This is a systems and leadership-first role, not a solo-creator role. You don't need to be our best individual designer; you need to be our ultimate process builder.

You will lead, coach, and elevate our ~4 Design Leads (who manage a team of 30, scaling to 100), transform institutional knowledge into a single scalable process, and take ultimate accountability for commercial and operational design success.

Key Responsibilities

Building the Process: Design and continuously optimize a single design workflow. Integrate training, review gates, and quality checks to bring all teams to a consistent, premium standard.

Leading & Coaching: Directly manage and elevate the ~4 Design Leads. Build their managerial capabilities so they can run their teams independently without constant supervision.

Operational Ownership: Own the workflow pipeline and throughput for up to ~600 designs/month, keeping internal teams aligned.

Client Alignment: Align the team's output with the strict quality, speed, and communication expectations of our Western (US and European)



enterprise clients.

What We Are Looking For

Leadership Over Portfolio: Your track record of building teams, coaching managers, and driving accountability matters far more than your personal design portfolio.

Systems Thinker: A natural builder who turns one-off creative fixes into repeatable, scalable workflows.

Driver/Analyzer Temperament: Decisive, structured, and highly comfortable working from data, KPIs, and scorecards rather than instinct alone.

Western Market Fluency: Comfortable communicating and managing the way American and European brands expect.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: Design degree and/or postgraduate qualification from a Tier-1/2 design school in India, or an accredited university in the US/UK/Canada.

Global Experience: 2+ years of direct experience working with US or Europe-based stakeholders or international brands.

Proven Scale: Demonstrable track record of building, structuring, and scaling a design process or creative team.

Industry Experience: Backgrounds in Commercial Interiors, Corporate Workspace, Retail, Spatial, or Exhibition design are welcome. What matters is your ability to master our operational ecosystem quickly.
