DIRECTOR - EMPLOYEE TRANSPORT OPERATIONS
Job Location: Gurgaon

Role Purpose The Director - Transport Operations is responsible for leading and governing end-to-end crew and employee transportation operations across India, ensuring the safe, secure, reliable, and on-time movement of crew members. The role is accountable for maintaining On-Time Performance (OTP), safeguarding crew welfare, ensuring regulatory compliance, driving operational excellence, and delivering cost-effective transportation solutions through strong vendor governance, technology adoption, and risk management practices.
Strategic Leadership & Operations
- Lead and manage PAN India transport operations, ensuring seamless support for airline operations and crew mobility requirements.
- Develop and execute transportation strategies that enhance safety, security, service reliability, operational efficiency, and scalability.
- Establish qualitative and quantitative performance metrics to evaluate operational effectiveness, service quality, and cost efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through process optimization, automation, and digital transformation.
Safety, Security & Compliance
- Establish and champion a Safety First culture across all transportation service providers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure transportation services comply with all applicable safety, security, regulatory, and duty-of-care requirements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments covering routes, vehicles, drivers, vendors, and operating environments.
- Lead incident, accident, and security breach investigations, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and maintain robust Business Continuity Plans (BCP), emergency response procedures, and contingency transport arrangements during disrupted operations.
- Ensure all transportation providers, drivers, and operations meet organizational security standards and compliance requirements.
On-Time Performance (OTP)
& Service Delivery
- Own and drive transportation-related OTP targets across the network.
- Ensure timely crew reporting by maintaining reliable transportation services aligned with operational schedules.
- Monitor transportation performance through real-time dashboards, analytics, and performance reviews.
- Conduct root-cause analysis of transportation delays and implement corrective actions to improve service reliability.
- Lead transport arrangements during irregular operations, diversions, cancellations, disruptions, and emergencies to minimize operational impact.
Vendor & Contract Management
- Establish and manage a high-performing network of transportation vendors and service providers.
- Define, monitor, and enforce SLAs covering safety, security, OTP, fleet quality, driver performance, and customer service.
- Conduct regular vendor audits, performance reviews, and capability development initiatives.
- Build and maintain solid relationships with strategic transportation partners and stakeholders.
Technology, Analytics & Automation
- Drive automation and standardization of transport operations, applications, SOPs, reporting systems, and management tools.
- Implement transportation management systems, Taski Transport automation system, GPS tracking, and route optimization solutions.
- Leverage data analytics to improve fleet utilization, operational efficiency, safety performance, and cost management.
- Develop KPI dashboards and performance reporting mechanisms for executive leadership.
Financial & Resource Management
- Manage transportation budgets, billing governance, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Analyze transportation costs, operational impacts,
and utilization trends to improve productivity and financial performance.
- Oversee manpower planning and resource allocation to ensure operational readiness and service continuity.
- Manage large-scale fleet operations while maintaining service reliability and cost effectiveness.
Stakeholder Management
- Partner with Operations, Crew Logistics, Safety, Procurement, Finance, and Business Continuity teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Act as the senior escalation point for transportation-related operational issues and service disruptions.
- Provide regular reporting on safety, security, compliance, OTP, operational performance, risks, and strategic initiatives to executive leadership.

Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, Logistics, Aviation Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA or Master's Degree preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in transportation, aviation operations, crew logistics, mobility services, or large-scale operational leadership roles.
- Proven experience managing large fleet operations, vendor ecosystems, safety-critical transportation environments, and nationwide transportation networks.
- Strong expertise in safety management, risk mitigation, security operations, business continuity planning, contract negotiations, data analytics, and operational transformation.
- Demonstrated success in improving transportation reliability, operational efficiency, and On-Time Performance.
