About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our client's dynamic team on a full-time basis. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, making it ideal for professionals seeking a balanced work-life environment. The primary responsibility of the Design Engineer is to develop and optimize manufacturing designs using FreeCAD, focusing on precision components critical to industrial applications.

The role involves translating complex technical specifications into detailed 3D models and comprehensive technical drawings that facilitate efficient production processes. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, engineering, and quality assurance, to ensure that designs are feasible, manufacturable, and aligned with project goals.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in FreeCAD for 3D modeling and parametric design, with a strong understanding of its features and capabilities.
- Solid experience in mechanical design principles and familiarity with manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications,



and CAD files accurately.
- Knowledge of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards to ensure precise manufacturing specifications.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Prior experience working remotely is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities The Design Engineer will be responsible for a variety of tasks essential to the successful development of manufacturing components:

- Design and model mechanical components utilizing FreeCAD, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to validate design feasibility and optimize manufacturability.
- Review and modify existing designs based on feedback from production and engineering teams to improve functionality and efficiency.
- Generate detailed technical documentation, including drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and assembly instructions.
- Conduct design reviews to identify potential manufacturing challenges early in the development process and propose effective solutions.
- Maintain organized records of all design files, revisions, and related documentation for easy access and traceability.




- Stay updated on industry best practices, new tools, and technological advancements related to CAD and manufacturing design.
