Job Summary The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks. The role involves concept development, detailed design, prototyping, and coordination with production, purchase, and maintenance teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effective design solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development

- Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using SolidWorks.
- Develop new product concepts and improve existing designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability.
- Perform tolerance analysis and GD&T; as per industry standards.
- Prepare BOMs, technical documentation, and engineering change requests.

Technical Analysis
- Conduct design validation through simulations (FEA/CFD if applicable).
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.

Manufacturing Support
- Coordinate with production, purchase, and maintenance teams for design feasibility and cost optimization.
- Provide technical support during fabrication,



assembly, and installation.
- Resolve design-related issues during production and field operations.

Project & Team Collaboration
- Lead or mentor junior design engineers and draftsmen.
- Participate in project planning, timelines, and design reviews.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including quality, procurement, and vendors.

Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (Part, Assembly, Drawing, Surfacing, Weldments)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, casting, injection/blow molding, etc.)
- Understanding of GD&T;, ISO standards, and material selection
- Experience with PLM/PDM systems is an advantage
