Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Design Engineer with 2+ years of experience in the Automotive Industry. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Creo Parametric, along with strong knowledge of Casting and Sheet Metal design.

The candidate will be responsible for developing and modifying automotive components, creating 3D models and 2D drawings, supporting design activities, and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver designs that meet technical, quality, cost, and manufacturing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and modify 3D models and 2D engineering drawings using Creo Parametric.
- Design and develop automotive components using Casting and Sheet Metal processes.
- Create detailed part and assembly models as per design requirements.
- Prepare manufacturing-ready drawings with appropriate GD&T;, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications.
- Perform design modifications based on engineering, manufacturing, testing, and customer requirements.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Understand casting design considerations such as draft, wall thickness, fillets, machining allowances, and parting lines.
- Understand sheet metal design principles including bend allowance, bend radius, thickness, reliefs, flanges, and forming considerations.
- Conduct basic design reviews and identify potential design/manufacturing issues.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Production, Tooling, and other Engineering teams.
- Support prototype development, testing, validation, and implementation of design changes.
- Maintain engineering documentation, drawings, BOMs, and design records.




- Ensure designs comply with applicable automotive standards and company design procedures.

Required Technical Skills
- Creo Parametric – Hands-on experience is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of 3D Part Modeling and Assembly.
- Good experience in 2D Drawing creation and detailing.
- Hands-on experience in Casting component design.
- Hands-on experience in Sheet Metal component design.
- Knowledge of GD&T; and engineering drawing standards.
- Understanding of DFM/DFA principles.
- Positive knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings.
- Basic knowledge of BOM and Engineering Change Management.

Preferred Skills
- Experience in automotive component/product development.
- Exposure to automotive OEM or Tier-1/Tier-2 engineering environments.
- Knowledge of PLM/PDM systems.
- Experience working with suppliers and manufacturing teams.
- Knowledge of tolerance stack-up and design validation.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in Automotive Design/Engineering.

Candidates with practical experience in Creo + Casting + Sheet Metal design will be preferred.
