**DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY TECHNICIAN – PART TIME

36 hours per week, term time only (38 weeks per year)

Actual starting salary: £20,693.51 per annum for 36 hours per week

Salary range for role: £24, 687 to £28, 328

To start November 2026** We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Design & Technology Technician to join our existing team of two technicians. The successful candidate will provide practical and technical support specifically within our 3D Design workshop . This role is due to commence in November 2026. As a Technology Technician you will be required to support departmental colleagues by ordering and preparing resources and equipment and providing support in and out of class.

This will include helping to set up resources for each lesson, assisting in the lesson itself – managing resources and equipment or helping smaller groups with key activities - and packing away and tidying up at the end of the lesson.

Design & Technology is a thriving department where students are encouraged to be independent problem solvers and creative thinkers. The curriculum is planned and delivered in a way to foster this as the projects equip the students with a variety of skills to help them become expert designers and makers. All of this culminates in the positive exam results the students regularly achieve.

The Design & Technology Department has five purpose-built rooms, five teaching staff and three technicians. The dedicated staff all work together as a team and support each other through the sharing of valuable practice. The teaching team are qualified specialists in their field and teach across all the key stages.





The role is term time only and will be worked over five days per week, with an 8.00am start each day. The exact working pattern can be agreed with the successful candidate. Flexibility is required outside school hours to prepare for lessons and tidy away resources at the end of the day.

Previous or relevant/transferable experience is essential. This role requires excellent organisational and communication skills and a ‘can do’ attitude. The ability to prioritise and provide administrative support is essential. A working knowledge of IT applications and software is advantageous but not essential.
