We are seeking a detail-oriented Costing person to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing production costs, labor costs, and inventory methods to ensure accurate product costing. This role is critical to our manufacturing operations and requires a keen eye for detail, robust analytical skills, and proficiency with SAP.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Examine and analyze production costs, labor costs, and inventory methods to support cost management strategies
- Assess fixed and variable costs to ensure accurate and comprehensive product costing
- Calculate import kitting costing, including import duties, Basic Customs Duty (BCD), and landed costs
- Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production outcomes
- Calculate and monitor labor costs and overhead costs for product costing purposes
- Utilize software (SAP/ERP) to extract, process, and analyze cost and production data effectively
- Analyze standard Bill of Materials (BOM) versus actual consumption patterns and identify variances
- Prepare monthly,
quarterly, and annual cost analysis reports for management review
- Collaborate with production, procurement, and finance teams to optimize costing processes
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and implement process improvements
- Maintain accurate costing records and ensure compliance with accounting standards
Preferred candidate profile
- 7-9 years of experience in cost accounting or costing management
- Proven experience in manufacturing cost analysis
- Experience with import costing, duties, and landed cost calculations
- Expertise in standard costing and variance analysis
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost accounting principles
- Knowledge of import-export regulations and customs duty calculation
