JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Educational Qualification

Essential: Graduate in Science or Pharmacy with an MBA from a reputed institute.

Desired: Postgraduate degree in Science or Pharmacy along with an MBA.

Relevant Experience

1720 years of experience in Business Development for Emerging Markets, including product in-licensing and out-licensing.

Language Requirements

Fluency in English is mandatory.

Knowledge of Spanish will be an added advantage.

JOB OBJECTIVE The DGM/GM Business Development will be responsible for:

Creating a futuristic and complementary product portfolio through internal sourcing and in-licensing.

Identifying new markets and formulating appropriate market-entry strategies.

Out-licensing existing products to potential customers in collaboration with the Business Team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS / DEVELOPMENTAL EXPERIENCES The role will encompass the following key responsibilities and activities:

Identify new products and facilitate their filing and registration.

Identify and in-license strategic products for key markets.

Out-license existing products in key markets.

Develop and maintain a robust market database covering existing and new products, and conduct and share trend analysis as required by senior management.

Analyze market trends and provide recommendations to the Business Team regarding new products and trends related to existing products.

Strong understanding of global therapy trends and new product evolution.





Solid relationships and networks with manufacturers and Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) globally and in India.

Strong knowledge of and relationships with partners and distributors across various regions within Emerging Markets.

Strong team-player skills, with the ability to effectively liaise and coordinate with team members and internal stakeholders.

Sound knowledge of regulatory requirements across Emerging Markets and the ability to interpret these requirements to develop market-specific product portfolios.

Strong project management skills, with the ability to ensure timely delivery of projects and milestones.

Positive understanding of the product development process and dossier development process.

Strong negotiation skills.

Ability to understand and work with complex products, including biosimilars, chronic-therapy products, and other high-value/specialty products.

Ability to understand and work across both B2B and B2C business models.

Valuable understanding of patent laws and regulations across Emerging Markets.

Basic understanding of therapy trends and new product evolution to create a complementary and future-ready product portfolio.

Ability to understand pharmaceutical regulations and the technical requirements associated with regulatory submissions, dossiers, and related processes.

Ability to drive internal processes and ensure timely completion of projects within defined timelines.

KEY MEASURES OF SUCCESS The performance of the role will be measured through the following key metrics:

Number of products successfully in-licensed, registered, and launched.

Number of new agreements signed and new markets initiated.

Sales achievement generated from new products and recent markets.
