To lead and execute audit activities for the MML's MSME Loan Against Property (Micro LAP) and Gold Loan portfolios, ensuring effective audit coverage, quality of audit observations, adherence to approved policies and processes, and timely identification of financial, operational, compliance and fraud risks.

The role will be responsible for planning and monitoring audit assignments, reviewing audit findings, guiding the audit team, coordinating with business and control functions, tracking corrective actions and strengthening audit processes and risk-control frameworks.

The position requires travel for field audit and verification activities, as if required.

Role & responsibilities:

- Audit Planning & Execution Plan, allocate resources and monitor MSME LAP and Gold Loan audits as per the approved monthly audit plan.
- Audit Checklist & Methodology Develop and periodically update risk-based audit checklists, methodologies and coverage parameters.
- Review of Audit Observations Review audit findings for accuracy, completeness, risk classification and adequacy of supporting evidence.
- MSME LAP Audit Ensure comprehensive audit coverage of sourcing, credit appraisal, documentation, collateral, legal/technical verification, disbursement and post-disbursement controls.
- Gold Loan Audit Monitor key Gold Loan controls including valuation, LTV, documentation, custody, reconciliation, release and auction-related processes.
- Field Verification & Risk-Based Coverage – Monitor field verification and ensure audit coverage is aligned with portfolio risk, business volume and emerging risk areas.
- Audit Reporting & MIS – Consolidate audit findings and prepare periodic audit reports, dashboards and MIS highlighting critical and recurring observations.
- Stakeholder Coordination & Closure – Coordinate with Credit, Operations, Backend, Legal, Risk and Business teams for clarification, management responses and timely closure of observations.




- Risk Identification & Process Improvement – Identify recurring, systemic, financial, operational, compliance and fraud risks and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
- Policy & SOP Review – Periodically review relevant policies, SOPs and processes and recommend enhancements based on audit findings, business changes and emerging risks.
- Team Management & Capability Building – Lead, guide and develop the audit team through regular reviews, training, coaching and quality monitoring.
- Audit Process & Framework Development – Strengthen audit frameworks, processes, controls, MIS and risk-based methodologies in line with organisational growth.
- Data Analytics & Technology Enablement – Leverage data analytics, dashboards and technology-enabled audit tools to improve risk identification, audit coverage and monitoring effectiveness.
- Strategic & Special Assignments – Support management in thematic reviews, special audits, investigations and other risk, governance and control-related assignments as required.

Preferred candidate profile

- Minimum 4to 5 years of relevant experience in:

- Internal Audit

- Credit Audit

- Credit Operations
- Risk & Control

- Product Audit
- Strong experience in MSME LAP / Micro Loan Against Property is preferred.
- Experience in Gold Loan audit/operations will be an added advantage.
- Experience in NBFC, MFI, Banking or other financial services organizations mandatory.
- Candidates should have exposure to field/branch audits and multi-location operations.
- Experience in supervising or leading audit teams is preferred.
