The Data Governance Analyst I/II supports the Bank's data governance program by helping maintain the data catalog, business glossary, data quality monitoring, and lineage documentation. This role works closely with data owners, stewards, and technology partners to ensure data assets are well-defined, discoverable, and trustworthy across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

- Create, maintain and update entries in the enterprise data catalog and business glossary, ensuring consistency between technical metadata and business definitions

- Support data quality monitoring activities, including tracking issues, coordinating remediation with data stewards, and reporting on DQ metrics

- Assist in documenting data lineage across source systems, transformation points, and reporting layers

- Support the Data Governance Issue Resolution process, logging and tracking data quality issues to resolution

- Help maintain governance documentation (standards, procedures, glossary taxonomy) in line with policy requirements

- Partner with data owners and stewards across business lines to support classification, ownership, and stewardship activities





- Assist with preparation of materials for governance committees and regulatory/examiner requests

Qualifications:

- Hands on experience in data governance, data management, data quality, or a related analytical role

- Exposure to data catalog tools (e.g., Atlan, Ataccama, Informatica), business glossaries, data quality frameworks, and lineage concepts

- Working knowledge of core data governance principles (ownership, stewardship, classification, quality dimensions)

- Awareness of data risk and regulatory risk concepts (e.g., data quality risk, compliance/reporting risk)

- Solid attention to detail and comfort working with cross-functional stakeholders

- Banking or financial services experience a plus, particularly exposure to regulatory data expectations (BCBS 239, HMDA, BSA/AML, etc.)

- DAMA DMBOK, CDMP, or similar data governance certification a plus

- Familiarity with SQL/Python a plus

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business, Information Systems, Finance) or equivalent experience
