About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Cybersecurity Expert to join our team on an hourly contract basis. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in security engineering, incident response, or cybersecurity leadership who are passionate about research and evaluation. As a Cybersecurity Expert at Synthires, you will contribute to our advanced AI research projects by developing realistic enterprise cybersecurity scenarios, creating reference outputs, and building evaluation frameworks that mirror real-world security operations.

Your expertise will help us enhance our security assessment tools, develop training materials, and refine evaluation methodologies that distinguish authentic security judgment from generic knowledge.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of professional experience in cybersecurity roles such as Security Engineer, CISO, or Security Lead. You should have a proven track record of managing incident response, security architecture, or compliance initiatives. Strong knowledge of security operations, cybersecurity tools, risk management, and current threat landscapes is essential.

Familiarity with industry standards such as NIST CSF, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or EU NIS2 is required. Excellent analytical, technical,



and written communication skills are necessary to effectively convey complex concepts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

- Develop comprehensive cybersecurity scenarios encompassing SOC monitoring, incident response, digital forensics, vulnerability management, and security architecture.
- Create targeted tasks across threat detection, penetration testing, security engineering, and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC).
- Design and implement scenarios utilizing tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, CrowdStrike, Tenable, Qualys, and enterprise GRC platforms.
- Apply threat modeling, incident response, and risk assessment methodologies to develop realistic security situations.
- Produce detailed reference incident reports, security assessments, architecture designs, and compliance documentation to support research and evaluation efforts.
- Develop rubrics that effectively differentiate authentic enterprise security judgment from generic textbook knowledge, ensuring practical relevance and accuracy.
