Role Description This is a full time, on-site role based in Bengaluru for a Cost Engineer / Costing Engineer focused on castings, forgings, RFQs, NPD, and should costing. The role involves preparing detailed cost estimates for precision metal components, analyzing manufacturing routes, and developing should-cost models for castings, forgings, and machined parts. The individual will review customer RFQs, interpret drawings and specifications, collaborate with design and production teams, and propose cost-effective manufacturing solutions.

Daily responsibilities include supporting new product development (NPD) through cost feasibility studies, optimizing process costs, benchmarking supplier quotations,



and updating cost databases. The role also involves working closely with sourcing, quality, and engineering teams to ensure competitive, accurate, and timely costing aligned with customer and organizational goals.

Qualifications

- Strong costing and financial analysis skills, including should costing, cost estimation, and cost optimization for castings, forgings, and machined components.
- Technical expertise in manufacturing processes such as casting, forging, machining, and related process planning for precision metal components.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, material specifications, and manufacturing standards to derive accurate cost models.
- Experience handling RFQs, NPD activities, and feasibility assessments for new components and projects in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with relevant software tools (e.g., Excel or cost estimation tools, basic CAD exposure) and data analysis for cost benchmarking.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in cost engineering, manufacturing engineering, or supplier development in metal components or auto/industrial sectors is highly beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, shop-floor-oriented environment.
