Key Responsibilities

nCost Accounting & Product Costing

n

n
- Prepare and maintain standard costs for billets, TMT bars, and by-products (scale, slag, etc.)
n
- Compute process-wise cost (Melting Shop/SMS, Rolling Mill) including yield, conversion cost, and burning loss
n
- Track and analyze raw material consumption (iron ore/sponge iron/scrap) vs. standard norms
n
- Prepare cost sheets for each grade/size of TMT bars produced
n

nYield & Variance Analysis

n

n
- Monitor metallic yield, rolling yield, and power/fuel consumption against budgeted norms
n
- Investigate and report variances (material, labor, overhead) with root-cause analysis
n
- Track scrap generation, rejection, and rework costs
n

nBudgeting & MIS

n

n
- Assist in preparation of annual budgets and monthly rolling forecasts
n
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports on production cost, per-ton conversion cost, and profitability
n
- Track power & fuel cost per ton, consumable costs, and other overheads
n

nInventory & Valuation

n

n
- Conduct physical stock verification of stores / raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
n
- Ensure correct inventory valuation as per costing standards and accounting policies (Ind AS)
n
- Reconcile stock records between production, stores, and finance
n

nCompliance & Audit

n

n
- Maintain cost records as per Companies (Cost Records and Audit)

- Support internal, statutory, and cost audits with required schedules and data

- Ensure compliance with GST/costing-related documentation
n

nCross-Functional Coordination

- Liaise with production, purchase, and quality departments to gather cost-relevant data
n
- Support pricing decisions by providing cost-plus analysis for different product grades
n
- Assist management with cost-reduction initiatives and process improvement studies
n

nKey Skills Required

n

n
- Solid knowledge of cost accounting principles, standard costing, and variance analysis
n
- Familiarity with steel/TMT manufacturing process (SMS, Rolling Mill operations)
n
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel
n
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail
n
- Knowledge of Ind AS / Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
n

nExperience: 3–6 years (in steel/TMT/manufacturing industry preferred)

nQualification: B.Com / M.Com / CMA (Inter or Qualified) / CA Inter preferred
