Position SummaryHIMS is seeking an accomplished, patient-centered Consultant / Senior Consultant – Urologist with dedicated Renal Transplant experience to lead and scale our clinical urology and renal transplantation program.

The selected specialist will oversee endourology, reconstructive urology, uro-oncology, and vascular access management, while collaborating closely with the Department of Nephrology to spearhead live donor kidney transplant programs and advanced post-transplant surgical care. The role also involves clinical teaching and bedside mentoring for residents and interns in accordance with National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical & Surgical Care

- Lead complex urological surgeries, including endourological procedures (PCNL, mini-PCNL, URS, RIRS, TURP, TURBT), reconstructive urology,



and laparoscopic urological interventions.
- Execute open and laparoscopic donor nephrectomies, recipient renal transplant surgeries, vascular anastomosis, and surgical management of graft complications.
- Establish and manage arteriovenous (AV) fistula creation and complex vascular access procedures for dialysis patients.
- Deliver specialized outpatient consultations, inpatient management, and perioperative care for elective and emergency urology cases.
- Formulate multidisciplinary care pathways in coordination with nephrologists, intensivists, anesthesiologists, and pathology teams for renal transplant recipients and living donors.

Program Leadership & Regulatory Compliance
- Oversee institutional compliance with the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act (THOTA), statutory ethical clearances, and donor-recipient documentation.
- Participate in clinical governance, surgical audit sessions, morbidity/mortality reviews, and infection control protocols in renal transplant intensive care units.
- Drive patient outreach initiatives, super-specialty health camps, and clinical awareness drives across Purvanchal.

Academic & Training
- Participate in academic seminars, bedside rounds, and surgical demonstrations for MBBS students and postgraduate trainees.
- Foster a clinical research culture,



contributing to institutional peer-reviewed publications and clinical trials.

Qualifications & Experience
- Educational Credentials:
- MBBS from a recognized medical college.
- MS (General Surgery) or equivalent DNB.
- MCh in Urology or DNB (Urology / Genito-Urinary Surgery) recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
- Specialized Training / Fellowship:
- Fellowship or dedicated, demonstrable institutional experience (minimum 1–3 years) in Renal Transplantation (living donor nephrectomy and recipient renal implantation).
- Licensing:
- Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or Uttar Pradesh Medical Council.
- Experience Level:
- 3–8+ years of post-MCh/DNB clinical experience in high-volume tertiary care centers or academic medical hospitals (designation will correspond to relevant experience and NMC faculty norms).

Desired Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in advanced endourology and minimally invasive urological techniques.
- Sound surgical judgment in handling critical vascular anastomoses and post-transplant surgical emergencies (e.g., graft thrombosis, hematoma, urine leaks).
- Strong interdisciplinary communication and patient counseling skills.
