Role Description The Consultant Critical Care Medicine will provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients in the intensive care unit, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical management.

Responsibilities include supervising and coordinating multidisciplinary care teams, performing and overseeing critical procedures, monitoring patient progress, and ensuring adherence to evidence-based protocols and hospital policies. The role involves working closely with other consultants, nursing staff, and allied health professionals, participating in clinical rounds, and contributing to case discussions and care planning.



The consultant will also engage in training and mentoring junior medical staff, supporting quality improvement initiatives, and maintaining accurate medical documentation.

This is a full-time, in office role based at Neotia Getwel Multispecialty Hospital in Siliguri.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Medicine with recognized postgraduate qualifications (e.g., DM/DrNB), and eligibility as a consultant-level practitioner.
- Specialized expertise in Critical Care Medicine, including management of ventilated patients, hemodynamic monitoring, and emergency interventions.
- Knowledge of coordinated care for Home Care and Elder Care, with an understanding of continuity of care from hospital to community settings.
- Ability to provide Training and mentorship to residents, junior doctors, and nursing staff in critical care practices and protocols.
- Valid medical registration with the appropriate medical council and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills, with a commitment to ethical, patient-centered care.
- Experience in a tertiary or multispecialty hospital ICU setting is strongly preferred.
- Willingness to participate in on-call duties, quality improvement, and clinical audit activities.
