Consultant – Enterprise Data Modeler (EDM)

Experience: 8–12 Years

Location: Chennai – DLF, Porur

Work Mode: Hybrid – 3 Days WFO / Week

Shift: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM IST

We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Data Modeler (EDM) with strong expertise in Data Vault 2.0 methodology to design and implement highly scalable and agile Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW).

The role involves solving complex data modeling challenges while leveraging AI-assisted development tools to automate and accelerate the generation of data models, mappings, SQL/DDL, and standardized Data Vault boilerplate code.

Responsibilities

- Design and own conceptual, logical, and physical data models, specifically implementing Data Vault 2.0 architecture including Hubs, Links, and Satellites.
- Integrate AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot into data modeling and engineering workflows to automate repetitive SQL/DDL generation and accelerate delivery.
- Define data architecture strategies covering historical data retention, auditability, and enterprise integration.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate complex business ontologies into robust Data Vault structures.
- Establish data modeling standards, hashing rules, and data lineage practices while ensuring compliance and data privacy.
- Act as an internal SME/educator for Data Vault 2.0 best practices and the effective, secure use of AI coding tools.




- Facilitate modeling workshops to identify core business concepts and design Point-in-Time (PIT) and Bridge tables.
- Review automated/AI-generated dbt models and SQL scripts to ensure compliance with Data Vault 2.0 standards.

Requirements
- 8+ years of overall IT/Data experience, with at least 5+ years in Enterprise Data Architecture and Data Modeling.
- Deep, proven expertise in designing and implementing Data Vault 2.0 architectures, including:
- Hubs
- Links
- Satellites
- Hash Keys
- PIT Tables
- Bridge Tables
- Practical experience implementing and guiding teams on AI-assisted development tools such as GenAI, LLMs, and GitHub Copilot to accelerate data engineering and modeling workflows.
- Solid SQL proficiency.
- Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake and Azure Synapse.

Nice to Have
- Certified Data Vault 2.0 Practitioner (CDVP2) certification.
- Experience integrating Data Vault methodologies with dbt and using AI to generate dbt macros.
- Familiarity with Data Mesh concepts and understanding how Data Vault fits within decentralized data architectures.
