About the Role

We are seeking a Competence Manager for the People Area to lead and develop a group of software engineers, application experts and SAP application experts. The People Area works across several technologies, primarily multiple SaaS solutions and a large footprint in SAP SuccessFactors supporting the people lifecycle across H&M; Group.

In this role, your main focus is people leadership and workforce capability. You will help ensure that we have the right skills, capacity and conditions in place to support both current delivery needs and future business and technology priorities.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, coach, and develop a team of software engineers, application experts and SAP application experts within the People Area.
- Drive employee engagement, performance management, and career development.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, feedback sessions, goal setting, and performance reviews.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
- Identify and develop future leaders through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.

Capability & Workforce Development
- Build and strengthen workforce capabilities across the People Area, covering SaaS platforms, SAP SuccessFactors and related people lifecycle technologies.
- Identify skill gaps and drive upskilling and cross-skilling initiatives.
- Partner with other Competence Managers, Engineering Managers, Product Managers, the Area Tech Manager, Talent Acquisition and People Partners on workforce planning, hiring and talent development.
- Contribute to resource planning and capability development while balancing delivery needs, employee growth and sustainable workload.

Stakeholder Collaboration




- Work closely with other Competence Managers, Engineering Managers, Product Managers and the Area Tech Manager to align workforce capability with area delivery priorities.
- Collaborate with People stakeholders and cross-functional teams to support business outcomes across the people lifecycle.
- Represent the people and competence perspective in planning, prioritisation and organisational discussions.

What You'll Bring
- Experience from software engineering, application expertise, SAP application expertise or a related technology area supporting People capabilities.
- Experience from people leadership, coaching, mentoring or formal staff responsibility.
- SAP SuccessFactors competence is highly preferred but not required.
- Strong people skills, with the ability to build trust, develop individuals and create an inclusive team environment.
- Experience in workforce planning, resource management, and succession planning.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A passion for developing people, fostering inclusive teams, and driving continuous improvement.
