About the role

AIMER Business School is launching a new branch in Hyderabad and is looking for a hands-on Chief Operating Officer (COO) to build and lead the branch's day-to-day operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will take end-to-end ownership of academic delivery, administration, people, student experience, growth, compliance, and operational performance.

This is a full-time, in office leadership role based in Hyderabad. We are looking for an execution-focused leader who can create systems, solve problems quickly, build a high-performing team, and ensure the institute runs smoothly from launch to scale.

Key responsibilities

- Lead the setup and launch of the Hyderabad branch, including operating plans, processes, policies, vendors, facilities, and staffing.
- Own end-to-end branch operations across academics, admissions, student services, administration, HR, finance coordination, technology, and facilities.
- Ensure high-quality academic delivery by managing timetables, faculty allocation, classroom standards, student progress, assessments, and academic calendars.
- Recruit, lead, coach, and hold accountable academic and non-academic teams.
- Build efficient SOPs, dashboards, review rhythms, and performance metrics for every major function.
- Drive admissions execution, student onboarding, retention, satisfaction, placements support, and parent/student communication.




- Prepare annual plans, budgets, forecasts, and operating reports; manage costs and improve productivity.
- Ensure regulatory, safety, documentation, and institutional compliance.
- Manage vendors, partnerships, and local stakeholders.
- Identify operational risks and resolve issues before they affect students or the business.
- Work closely with the CEO on strategy, expansion, brand standards, and long-term growth.

What we are looking for

- Proven senior leadership experience in education, training, higher education, edtech, or a similar multi-function service organization.
- Strong command of academic operations and general business operations.
- Demonstrated ability to launch or scale a branch, campus, business unit, or institution.
- Excellent people leadership, decision-making, planning, budgeting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to move between strategy and hands-on execution.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, founder-led environment and reporting directly to the CEO.
- Willingness to work full-time on-site in Hyderabad.
