Role Description The Chief Intensivist is a full time, on-site leadership role based at SRV Hospitals in Mumbai. The role involves overseeing all clinical operations within the intensive care units, including direct patient management, complex case reviews, and coordination of multidisciplinary care.

The Chief

Intensivist will develop and implement ICU protocols, ensure adherence to evidence-based practices, and monitor clinical outcomes and quality indicators. Daily responsibilities include supervising intensivists and critical care staff, providing guidance on treatment plans, leading clinical rounds, and supporting rapid response and emergency interventions.



The role also includes mentoring junior physicians and nurses, contributing to continuing medical education, and collaborating with hospital administration to optimize resource utilization, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

- Strong expertise in Critical Care Medicine, with demonstrated experience managing complex ICU cases and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Clinical proficiency in Pulmonology and Medicine relevant to intensive care, including respiratory failure management and multi-organ support.
- Working knowledge of Anesthesiology principles applicable to perioperative and critical care settings.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Critical Care Nursing teams, supporting high standards of nursing care and patient monitoring.
- Recognized postgraduate qualification (MD/DNB or equivalent) in Critical Care Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pulmonology, Anesthesiology, or related specialty.
- Prior experience in a senior ICU leadership or intensivist role, preferably in a multi-specialty hospital setting.
- Strong decision-making, crisis management, and clinical governance skills, with a commitment to patient safety and quality improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a diverse team, and openness to teaching, mentoring, and continuous learning.
