– CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO)

Designation: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Reporting To: Managing Director / Director

Experience: 10 Years in Finance & Accounts, preferably in Engineering, Fire & Safety, Construction, MEP, or Project-Based Industry

- Job Purpose The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for managing the company's overall financial strategy, financial planning, accounting, cash flow, taxation, statutory compliance, budgeting, project profitability, internal controls, and financial reporting.

The CFO will work closely with the management and various departments to ensure financial discipline, sustainable business growth, cost control, and effective utilization of company resources.

- Key ResponsibilitiesA. Financial Strategy & Management

- Develop and implement the company's overall financial strategy.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management for business decisions.
- Monitor the company's financial health, profitability, and cash position.
- Develop short-term and long-term financial plans.
- Identify financial risks and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
- Support management in evaluating new projects, investments, and business opportunities.

B. Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee day-to-day accounting and finance operations.
- Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of books of accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Review Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and other financial reports.
- Establish proper financial reporting systems and MIS.
- Ensure timely closure of monthly and annual accounts.
- Monitor accounting controls and ensure accuracy of financial data.

C. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Prepare and monitor cash-flow forecasts.
- Manage working capital effectively.
- Monitor customer receivables and outstanding payments.
- Coordinate with sales and management for timely collection from clients.
- Monitor vendor payments and payment schedules.
- Ensure sufficient cash availability for salaries, purchases, project execution, statutory payments, and other business requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve cash-flow efficiency.

D. Project Financial Management
- Review financial viability and profitability of new projects.
- Monitor project budgets against actual expenses.
- Track project-wise revenue, costs, margins, and profitability.
- Identify cost overruns and financial risks at project level.
- Work with the Operations, Sales, Estimation, and Purchase teams to control project costs.
- Review major purchase commitments and project-related expenses.
- Provide management with project profitability reports.

E. Budgeting & Cost Control
- Prepare annual operating budgets.
- Establish departmental budgets and financial targets.
- Monitor actual expenses against approved budgets.
- Identify unnecessary or excessive expenses.
- Implement effective cost-control measures.
- Review procurement and operational expenses from a financial perspective.




- Monitor gross margins and contribution margins.

F. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure timely compliance with applicable taxation and statutory requirements.
- Oversee GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESIC, professional tax, and other applicable compliances.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors, tax consultants, and other professional advisors.
- Ensure timely filing of returns and payment of statutory liabilities.
- Monitor changes in applicable financial and tax regulations.
- Maintain proper records and documentation for statutory requirements.

G. Audit & Internal Controls
- Coordinate internal, statutory, tax, and other audits.
- Develop and maintain strong financial control systems.
- Identify financial and operational control weaknesses.
- Implement appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
- Ensure proper authorization and documentation of financial transactions.
- Monitor compliance with company financial policies.

H. Banking & Financial Institutions
- Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
- Coordinate banking transactions and financial facilities.
- Monitor bank balances, limits, guarantees, loans, and other financial arrangements.
- Evaluate financing requirements and recommend suitable options to management.
- Ensure timely submission of financial documents required by banks and financial institutions.

I. Receivables & Credit Control
- Establish credit-control procedures for customers.
- Monitor ageing of receivables.
- Review overdue payments and develop collection strategies.
- Coordinate with the Sales and Business Development teams regarding customer credit limits and payment terms.
- Escalate critical outstanding amounts to management.
- Improve the company's overall collection cycle.

J. MIS & Management Reporting

Prepare and present regular financial reports including:

- Monthly Profit & Loss
- Balance Sheet
- Cash Flow Statement
- Receivables & Payables
- Project-wise Profitability
- Budget vs. Actual
- Expense Analysis
- Sales & Collection Analysis
- Working Capital Report
- Financial Forecasts
- Management MIS

Provide meaningful financial analysis and recommendations along with the reports.

K. Team Management

- Lead and manage the Finance & Accounts team.
- Define responsibilities and performance expectations.
- Review team performance and ensure timely completion of financial activities.
- Train and develop finance personnel.
- Ensure proper segregation of duties and financial controls.
- Coordinate with HR and management regarding payroll-related financial requirements.

L. Business & Management Support
- Work closely with the Managing Director and management team.
- Provide financial analysis for business expansion and new opportunities.




- Review commercial terms of major contracts and projects.
- Support management during negotiations involving financial terms.
- Evaluate risks associated with customers, projects, vendors, and contracts.
- Provide data-driven recommendations for improving profitability.

The CFO will be responsible for monitoring:

- Company profitability and financial performance
- Cash-flow management
- Reduction in outstanding receivables
- Working-capital efficiency
- Project-wise profitability
- Budget adherence
- Cost-control effectiveness
- Timely statutory compliance
- Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
- Audit compliance

- Collection efficiency

4. Required Skills
- Strong financial planning and analytical skills
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliance
- Cash-flow and working-capital management
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Project costing and profitability analysis
- Solid leadership and team-management skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel and accounting/ERP software
- Decision-making and problem-solving ability
- Strong commercial understanding

5. Qualification

Preferred Qualification:

- CA / Chartered Accountant – preferred
- MBA Finance / M.Com / equivalent qualification may also be considered based on experience.

Experience:

10 years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounts, with preferably 3 years in a senior finance management role.

Experience in Fire & Safety, MEP, Engineering, Construction, Infrastructure, Facility Management, or Project-Based Businesses will be an advantage.

- Have experience in project-based businesses.

- Maintain high levels of confidentiality and professional integrity.

7. Job Location

Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: As per experience, qualification, and industry standards.

- Confidentiality & Professional Responsibility The CFO will be responsible for maintaining strict confidentiality of company financial information, customer information, employee salary data, banking information, business strategies, project profitability, and other sensitive company records.

The CFO will be expected to maintain professional integrity and ensure that all financial activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, company policies, and management guidelines.

Pay: ₹36,675.94 - ₹137,478.88 per month
