Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership & Growth

· Formulate financial strategies to support the company’s expansion plans, capacity additions, and backward/forward integration initiatives.

· Evaluate capital expenditure (CapEx) for recent recycling technologies, smelting plants, and processing equipment to ensure optimal ROI.

· Provide strategic inputs on scrap procurement models, domestic vs. import mix, and long-term supply contracts.

Commodity Hedging & Risk Management

· Mitigate price volatility risks by designing and executing robust hedging strategies for Copper and Aluminium on domestic (MCX) and international (LME) exchanges.

· Monitor forex exposure and implement effective hedging mechanisms for imported scrap and international sales.

· Establish risk management frameworks to safeguard the business against sharp commodity price drops and credit defaults.

Working Capital & Funds Management

· Optimize working capital cycles, given the highly cash-intensive nature of the metal scrap industry.

· Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions to secure competitive cost of funds, consortium lending, and structured trade finance facilities (LCs, BG, Buyers Credit).

· Oversee cash flow forecasting to ensure adequate liquidity for large-scale, spot-basis scrap procurement.

Operations & Cost Control

· Implement stringent cost accounting systems to track conversion costs, melting losses, recovery rates, and energy consumption per ton.

· Partner with plant heads to drive operational efficiencies, reduce scrap processing wastages, and improve EBITDA margins.

· Drive digital transformation by upgrading ERP systems (e.g., SAP/Oracle)



to achieve real-time inventory tracking and material reconciliation.

Governance, Compliance & Taxation

· Ensure strict compliance with Indian Direct and Indirect Tax laws, particularly GST regulations relating to the scrap metal sector (such as Reverse Charge Mechanisms and input tax credit verification).

· Oversee corporate governance, statutory audits, internal controls, and compliance with environmental and pollution control financial mandates.

· Manage relationships with statutory auditors, tax authorities, and legal counsels.

Required Profile & Qualifications

Education & Certification

· Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA in Finance from a premier institute is mandatory.

· Additional certifications in CFA or Treasury Management are highly desirable.

· 15 to 20 years of total experience in corporate finance, with at least 3–5 years as a CFO or Head of Finance in a ₹1,000 Crore company.

· Mandatory industry experience in Metal Recycling, Smelting, Base Metals Manufacturing (Copper/Aluminium/Steel), or large-scale Commodity Trading.

Technical & Soft Skills

· Deep understanding of LME/MCX pricing structures, premium/discount dynamics, and scrap grading systems.

· Proven track record of handling consortium banking and large working capital lines.

· Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
