Role & responsibilities

- Simulation Verification & Validation (V&V;): Act as the technical authority to review, audit, and validate high-fidelity CFD simulations, methodologies, and reports submitted by defense OEMs and tier-1 suppliers.
- Technical Auditing: Critically evaluate OEM solver configurations, grid-independence studies, turbulence models, boundary conditions, and convergence criteria in Ansys Fluent to ensure strict compliance with naval defense standards.
- Critical Component Simulation: Independently execute end-to-end CFD analysis on highly critical naval systems (e.g., submarine hull hydrodynamics, propeller cavitation, weapon launch systems, or specialized thermal management) when internal verification or deep-dive optimization is required.
- Advanced Meshing & Modeling: Set up high-accuracy grids (structured/polyhedral) using Ansys Fluent Meshing or ICEM CFD for complex geometries, maintaining exact y+y raised to the positive power+ control for boundary layer resolution.
- Discrepancy Reporting & Advisory: Identify gaps, errors, or ungrounded assumptions in OEM simulation data. Generate formal validation reports and provide actionable design recommendations or corrective feedback to OEM engineering teams.
- Multiphase & Hydrodynamic Modeling: Oversee and validate complex physics setups, including Volume of Fluid (VOF) for free-surface waves, cavitation models for propulsion, and Conjugate Heat Transfer (CHT) for defense electronics.

Preferred candidate profile Education & Experience:





- Degree: B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. (A Master's degree specializing in Fluid Dynamics, Hydrodynamics, or Thermal Sciences is highly preferred).
- Experience: 2+ years of core experience in CFD simulation and design validation, preferred within the Naval, Marine, or Defense sectors.

Technical Competencies (Must-Have):

- Expert Software Skills: Subject matter expertise in Ansys Fluent (advanced solver tuning, physics setup, and post-processing validation).
- Domain Expertise: Exceptional foundational knowledge of Fluid Mechanics, Hydrodynamics, and Naval Architecture principles (hull resistance, seakeeping, marine propulsion).
- V&V; Experience: Prior experience in verification, validation, and benchmarking simulation data against physical testing (e.g., towing tank tests, wind tunnel data, or sea trials).
- Physics Modeling: Hands-on experience modeling multiphase flows, cavitation, fluid-structure interaction (FSI), and high-Reynolds number turbulence models.
