CDN / Web Platform Engineer Senior individual contributor | Web infrastructure, edge delivery,

automation, and performance

Role Summary The CDN / Web Platform Engineer owns the delivery infrastructure that securely builds,

deploys, accelerates, and operates high-traffic web applications. This hands-on role spans CDN configuration, edge computing, CI/CD automation, web performance,

production change management, and incident support. The engineer works independently and partners with application, cloud, security, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and maintain CDN configurations for routing, origins, failover, caching,

compression, redirects, headers, security controls, error handling, and staged activations.
- Develop, test, deploy, and troubleshoot JavaScript-based edge functions and

edge data stores supporting routing, authentication, localization, token handling, and API integration.
- Build and operate Jenkins and GitHub Actions pipelines covering builds, tests,

security scans, quality gates, deployments, secrets, schedules, and environment approvals.
- Maintain configuration parity across environments; plan rollbacks; support

release cutovers; execute controlled production changes; and resolve CDN and edge-platform incidents.
- Monitor Core Web Vitals and improve caching, resource loading, third-party

scripts, image and font delivery, TLS, HTTP protocols, and edge latency.
- Integrate code-quality, SAST, and SCA controls into delivery pipelines and





coordinate remediation with security and engineering teams.
- Maintain architecture documentation, runbooks, setting standards, redirect

guidance, readiness checklists, and incident procedures.

Required Qualifications

- 7+ years in web infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, or a related field,

including 3+ years of hands-on CDN or edge-platform engineering.
- Strong experience with Akamai or a comparable CDN, including caching, origin

configuration, rule management, activations, and live-edge troubleshooting.
- Experience with edge compute, edge key-value storage, and large-scale redirect

management.
- Proficiency in modern JavaScript and strong knowledge of DNS, TLS, HTTP,

caching headers, CORS, cookies, proxies, and redirect chains.
- Experience with Jenkins pipelines, GitHub Actions, Git branching, secrets,

scheduled workflows, and multi-environment releases.
- Practical experience with automated testing, code quality, SAST, and SCA tools.
- Ability to execute and roll back production changes independently and produce

clear technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Akamai Property Manager, EdgeWorkers, EdgeKV, Cloudlets,

Sandbox, purge, reporting, and CLI tooling.
- Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager, AWS delivery services, OAuth

2.0/OpenID Connect, and SEO or locale routing at the edge.
- Experience with Node.js, Deno, shell scripting, Java, Maven, or multi-CDN
