The Cath Lab Technician assists cardiologists and the cath lab team during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The role involves preparing the cath lab, operating and maintaining equipment, assisting during procedures, ensuring availability of consumables, maintaining patient safety and documentation, and responding to emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare the Cath Lab, equipment, instruments, and consumables before each procedure.
- Assist cardiologists and other clinical staff during coronary angiography, angioplasty/PCI, and other cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Assist with preparation and maintenance of the sterile field and follow strict infection-control protocols.
- Prepare and check catheters, guidewires, balloons, stents, sheaths, contrast media, and other procedure-specific supplies as directed.
- Operate cath lab equipment such as fluoroscopy/imaging systems, haemodynamic monitoring systems, ECG equipment, and recording systems, according to training and hospital protocols.
- Assist with patient positioning, preparation, monitoring, and transfer before, during, and after procedures.
- Monitor and record relevant ECG, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, haemodynamic parameters, and other observations as required.
- Assist in maintaining and monitoring sterility and radiation-safety practices within the Cath Lab.
- Ensure availability and readiness of emergency equipment, including defibrillator, crash cart, oxygen, suction, and emergency medications.
- Assist the clinical team during cardiac emergencies and resuscitation procedures within the scope of training.
- Handle, label, store, and maintain instruments, devices, and medical consumables appropriately.
- Maintain accurate records of procedures, consumables, implants/stents, equipment checks, and patient-related documentation.
- Check stock levels and coordinate with stores/procurement for timely replenishment of Cath Lab consumables and equipment.




- Assist with cleaning, disinfection, sterilization coordination, and turnover of the Cath Lab between procedures.
- Perform routine checks and report malfunctioning or damaged equipment promptly.
- Follow hospital policies relating to patient identification, infection prevention, radiation protection, biomedical waste management, and occupational safety.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with hospital standards and professional ethics.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, audits, training programs, and continuing education.
- Assist in maintaining a smooth workflow during elective, emergency, and on-call Cath Lab procedures.

Qualifications
- Diploma / B.Sc. in Cardiac Care Technology, Cath Lab Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
- Additional certification in cardiac care or Cath Lab technology is desirable.
- Basic knowledge of BLS/CPR is desirable.
- Relevant registration/licensing, where applicable, as per local regulatory requirements.

Experience
- Only Experienced
- Previous experience in a Cath Lab, cardiac hospital, ICU, emergency department, or cardiac OT is preferred.
- Experience assisting in coronary angiography and PCI procedures is an advantage.

Pay: ₹22,913.73 - ₹32,251.32 per month
