The Catering Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the complete operational execution of catering events, including manpower, food service, kitchen coordination, logistics, equipment, vendors, client coordination, and event-day execution.

The ideal candidate should be highly organised, hands-on, comfortable working at event venues, and capable of managing large teams under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Operations

- Manage end-to-end catering operations for weddings, corporate events, parties, and social functions.
- Visit event venues for pre-event planning and operational coordination.
- Coordinate event setup, food preparation, buffet arrangement, service counters, dining areas, and equipment.
- Ensure all event activities are completed according to the planned timeline.
- Supervise the entire catering operation during the event.
- Handle last-minute changes and operational challenges effectively.

Team & Manpower Management

- Manage chefs, kitchen staff, waiters, captains, stewards, helpers, and other event staff.
- Plan manpower requirements based on guest count and event requirements.
- Assign responsibilities and supervise staff during events.
- Conduct pre-event team briefings regarding menu, service standards, responsibilities, and timelines.
- Monitor staff discipline, grooming, attendance, and performance.

Food & Service Management

- Ensure food is prepared and served according to the approved menu.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, temperature, hygiene, and replenishment.
- Ensure buffet counters and service areas remain properly maintained throughout the event.
- Coordinate closely with chefs and kitchen teams for smooth food service.
- Monitor food wastage and take corrective measures.

Logistics & Inventory

- Coordinate transportation and movement of food, crockery, cutlery, equipment, furniture, and other materials.




- Ensure all required materials reach the venue before the event starts.
- Maintain proper event-wise inventory and material records.
- Ensure safe handling and return of equipment after events.
- Coordinate with drivers, suppliers, vendors, and venue teams.

Client & Venue Coordination

- Coordinate with clients, event planners, venue managers, decorators, and other vendors.
- Act as the key operations contact during events.
- Understand client requirements and ensure they are communicated properly to the team.
- Handle client and guest concerns professionally and resolve issues quickly.
- Ensure a smooth and professional guest experience.

Cost & Quality Control

- Monitor food wastage, manpower utilisation, material usage, and operational expenses.
- Ensure optimum utilisation of resources.
- Maintain company quality and service standards.
- Identify operational gaps and suggest improvements.
- Prepare post-event reports and communicate issues to management.

Candidate Requirements:

- 3–7 years of relevant experience in catering, banquet, hospitality, restaurant, or event operations.
- Previous experience handling wedding catering and large-scale events is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of catering and food-service operations.
- Proven experience managing large teams.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Comfortable working at different event venues across Kolkata.
- Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, evenings, and holidays depending on event schedules.
- Must be comfortable with extensive on-ground/event-site work.
- Ability to handle multiple events and operational responsibilities simultaneously.
- Knowledge of Kolkata's wedding and event ecosystem will be an advantage.
- A valid driving licence and ability to travel to event venues will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
