About the Role
We are looking for a confident, well-spoken and responsible Career Counsellor to join our team at Parippally, Kollam.
The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with students, parents and working professionals. The role involves understanding students' career goals, guiding them towards suitable courses and career paths, handling enquiries and maintaining regular follow-ups.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel students and understand their educational and career goals.
- Explain courses, career opportunities, eligibility and course benefits clearly.
- Communicate effectively with students and parents through phone calls and face-to-face meetings.
- Handle student and parent enquiries professionally.
- Follow up with prospective students and convert enquiries into admissions.
- Maintain regular communication with students and parents.
- Build a good relationship with students and create a comfortable counselling environment.
- Understand individual student requirements and suggest suitable career options.
- Coordinate with the academic and management team regarding student requirements.
- Maintain enquiry, follow-up and admission records.
- Handle multiple students and enquiries efficiently.
- Participate in counselling sessions, seminars, workshops and promotional activities when required.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong confidence in speaking with students and parents.
- Good listening and counselling skills.
- Ability to understand and manage students of different age groups.
- Ability to handle parents professionally and patiently.
- Good convincing and follow-up skills.
- Positive attitude and professional appearance.
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to use WhatsApp, email and MS Office/Google Workspace.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Malayalam fluency is required; good English communication is an advantage.
