Job Title: Deputy Manager – Powertrain Strength & Durability

Educational Qualification: Essential — BE / B.Tech; Desirable — M.Tech

Job Role: Powertrain Strength & Durability CAE Engineer

Key Responsibilities

- Build finite element (FE) models of powertrain and auxiliary systems using HyperMesh and SimLab.
- Run CAE simulations for powertrain systems, covering modal and Frequency Response Function (FRF) analysis, nonlinear structural and thermal analysis, and low- and high-cycle fatigue assessment.
- Set up structural and thermal loads, boundary conditions, and solver configurations for simulation runs.
- Post-process and interpret simulation results to identify failure modes and develop countermeasures that meet target performance criteria.
- Propose and evaluate weight- and cost-optimization opportunities.
- Work closely with design and test teams on failure analysis, CAE-to-test correlation, and ongoing improvement of CAE methods.

Technical / Functional Competencies





- Solid grasp of engine components and subsystems — engine block and cylinder head, crank train, and exhaust systems.
- Hands-on experience with CAE tools such as Abaqus, FEMFAT, Nastran, AVL Excite, HyperMesh, SimLab, and NX.
- Good working knowledge of powertrain systems, combustion behavior, and the thermal and dynamic loads they generate.
- Skilled in Nastran dynamic analysis (SOL103, SOL111, SOL112), Abaqus thermal and nonlinear simulation, and FEMFAT fatigue assessment.
- Experience with Multi-Body Dynamics (MBD) analysis in AVL Excite is a plus.
- Comfortable working with large, high-DOF finite element models involving complex nonlinear contact.
- Proficient in MS Office, with macro-based automation for reporting and workflow efficiency.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and data-interpretation skills.
