About The Role
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Accountant / Full-Charge Bookkeeper to take ownership of the day-to-day accounting and financial recordkeeping for ASB Resources. This pivotal role involves managing comprehensive accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of accounting principles within a technology and professional services context, capable of analyzing financial data beyond straightforward transaction entry.
They will be responsible for maintaining accurate books, performing reconciliations, executing month-end close procedures, and producing reliable financial and management reports that support strategic decision-making.
This position requires a proactive individual who can understand how revenue streams, costs, customer billing, payroll, subcontractor expenses, product purchases, partner incentives, and gross margins interconnect. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure financial integrity and operational efficiency, contributing significantly to the company's financial health and growth trajectory.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, complemented by at least five years of progressive accounting and bookkeeping experience. Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online is essential, along with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and reconciliation/analysis functions.
A solid understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, journal entries, accruals, and month-end closing procedures is required.
Experience with professional services, staffing, consulting, technology, SaaS resale, or project accounting is highly preferred. Familiarity with reconciling rebates, incentives, commissions, vendor credits, or partner programs will be advantageous. Certifications such as CPA, CMA, or Certified Bookkeeper are preferred but not mandatory. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to perform balance sheet reconciliations, prepare financial statements, and analyze financial data critically.
Responsibilities
Manage daily bookkeeping activities and general ledger accounting within QuickBooks Online, including transaction classification and journal entries.
Oversee and reconcile Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, ensuring timely customer payments and vendor bill processing.
Conduct monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining detailed supporting schedules.
Prepare accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, payroll adjustments, and other month-end journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Perform comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures, reviewing trial balances for accuracy and completeness.
Generate and analyze management reports such as Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flows, A/R Aging, and A/P Aging reports.
Reconcile staffing and T&M; revenue against timesheets, client billing rates, payroll, and subcontractor expenses to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Monitor revenue, billing, costs, and profitability for fixed-price and professional services projects, providing insights into project financial health.
Handle reconciliation of software, SaaS, and technology product sales, including customer invoices, purchase orders,
vendor invoices, COGS, credits, and collections.
Track and verify technology partner incentives and rebates, including programs from partners such as IBM, ensuring expected incentives align with actual payments and underlying transactions.
Perform monthly revenue and gross margin reconciliations by client, consultant, project, service line, and product transaction to maintain financial integrity.
Maintain accurate accounting for accrued and unbilled revenue, deferred revenue, partner incentive receivables, payroll liabilities, sales tax liabilities, and intercompany transactions as applicable.
Assist with sales tax reconciliation in coordination with Avalara and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
Reconcile financial data across various systems including QuickBooks Online, Zoho, CEIPAL, Excel, and other operational platforms.
Prepare documentation and schedules for external CPA firms, tax advisors, banks, insurance audits, and other financial reviews.
Identify discrepancies in accounting records, investigate root causes, and work collaboratively to resolve issues promptly.
Contribute to process improvements by automating recurring accounting, reconciliation, and reporting tasks to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
