Role & responsibilities

- Lead and manage the Biomedical Engineering Department and supervise biomedical engineers and technicians.

- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for all medical equipment.

- Ensure maximum equipment uptime through timely troubleshooting, repairs, and servicing.

- Oversee the installation, commissioning, calibration, validation, and decommissioning of medical equipment.

- Maintain an accurate inventory and asset register for all biomedical equipment.

- Plan and manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) and Comprehensive Maintenance Contracts (CMC).

- Coordinate with vendors for equipment servicing, warranty claims, spare parts procurement, and technical support.

- Prepare technical specifications and participate in the evaluation and procurement of new medical equipment.

- Ensure compliance with NABH standards, manufacturer guidelines, and applicable healthcare regulations.

- Conduct regular safety inspections,



performance checks, and risk assessments for medical devices.

- Maintain documentation related to maintenance records, calibration certificates, service reports, and audit requirements.

- Collaborate with clinical departments to ensure equipment availability and resolve technical issues promptly.

- Prepare departmental budgets, monitor expenses, and optimize maintenance costs.

- Analyze equipment performance and recommend replacement or upgrade plans based on lifecycle assessments.

- Train biomedical staff and educate end users on the protected and effective use of medical equipment.

- Support hospital accreditation audits and regulatory inspections.
