Business Intelligence Analyst

Job Overview

We are looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst with 4–5 years of experience and strong expertise in data analysis, data modeling, and data visualization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, and/or Domo and be comfortable working directly with clients to understand their requirements and deliver effective BI solutions.

The candidate should have a strong understanding of data, be comfortable working with business stakeholders and clients, understand their reporting and analytical requirements, and translate those requirements into effective BI solutions.

Job Mode & Working Hours

- Job Mode: Fully Remote
- Working Hours: Aligned with U.S. Pacific Time (PT)
- Expected Availability: Candidates should be available to work until 1:00 AM IST to accommodate U.S. Pacific Time business hours.

Role and Responsibilities

Business Intelligence & Data Analysis

- Analyze business and operational data to identify trends, patterns, insights, and opportunities.
- Understand business requirements and translate them into meaningful data and reporting solutions.
- Perform exploratory and descriptive data analysis to identify key business drivers and performance indicators.
- Work with large and complex datasets from multiple sources.
- Validate data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability before presenting insights.
- Identify data quality issues and work with relevant teams to resolve them.
- Develop meaningful KPIs and metrics aligned with client and business requirements.
- Present analytical findings in a clear and business-friendly manner.

Data Modeling & Transformation

- Design and develop effective data models to support reporting and analytics requirements.
- Understand relationships between different datasets, tables, dimensions, and measures.
- Perform data preparation, transformation, cleansing, and integration for BI reporting.
- Work with technical/data teams to understand source systems and data structures.
- Develop calculated measures, KPIs, and business logic required for dashboards and reports.




- Ensure data models are scalable, efficient, and suitable for reporting and visualization.
- Maintain appropriate documentation of data sources, definitions, calculations, and reporting logic.

Dashboard & Data Visualization

- Design and develop interactive, user-friendly, and visually effective dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, and/or Domo.
- Build dashboards that clearly communicate key business insights rather than simply displaying data.
- Select appropriate charts, visualizations, filters, drill-downs, and interactive elements based on the business requirement.
- Develop executive dashboards, operational reports, analytical dashboards, and performance reporting solutions.
- Apply data visualization best practices to improve usability, clarity, and decision-making.
- Optimize dashboard performance and usability.
- Review existing dashboards and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure dashboards are consistent, accurate, intuitive, and aligned with client expectations.

Client & Stakeholder Interaction

- Act as a key BI point of contact for clients and business stakeholders.
- Conduct discussions, requirement-gathering sessions, and working meetings with client.
- Understand client business processes, challenges, reporting requirements, and desired outcomes.
- Translate business requirements into data, analytical, and visualization requirements.
- Explain data findings, dashboards, metrics, and analytical outputs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Conduct dashboard demonstrations and walkthroughs with clients.
- Gather feedback and incorporate appropriate changes into BI solutions.
- Build strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.




- Communicate project progress, issues, dependencies, and requirements clearly.

Requirements Gathering & Solution Design

- Gather and document business intelligence and reporting requirements.
- Understand the business problem before determining the appropriate reporting or visualization solution.
- Define KPIs, metrics, calculations, filters, dimensions, and reporting requirements.
- Create reporting specifications and translate requirements into actionable development tasks.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver BI solutions.
- Participate in discussions around dashboard architecture, data models, and reporting approaches.
- Ensure the final BI solution addresses the underlying business requirement and is not limited to simply reproducing existing reports.

Testing, Validation & Deployment

- Perform data validation and reconciliation between source data and BI outputs.
- Test dashboards, calculations, filters, drill-downs, and data refreshes.
- Identify and troubleshoot data and visualization issues.
- Ensure reports and dashboards meet defined business and technical requirements.
- Support deployment, documentation, training, and post-deployment improvements.

Skills & Experience
- 4–5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Visualization, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, and/or Domo.
- Strong understanding of data analysis and data modeling.
- Proven experience building interactive dashboards and reports.
- Strong SQL and data querying skills.
- Valuable understanding of KPIs, metrics, measures, dimensions, and data relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
