The Role: The Senior CloudOps Engineer is a senior, hands-on technical role within Managed Digital Services. You pick up each managed cloud platform at Hyper Care, take it through transition into steady-state operations, and run it from there. You own the engineering practices that keep those platforms reliable, secure and cost-effective for our customers - Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, observability and cloud financial operations (FinOps).

Role Responsibilities





- Hands-on operational delivery and platform engineering across your portfolio of
- managed cloud customers.
- Third-Line Technical Resolution - the escalation point within the CloudOps team
- for complex platform and operational issues, working with the CloudOps Lead
- on anything that needs customer or commercial handling
- Transition &
- Operational Readiness - joining each platform at HyperCare, taking
- handover from the build team, and validating monitoring, alerting, runbooks,
- access and documentation before HyperCare exit
- Operational Feedback into Design - feeding operational requirements such as
- tooling, configuration, monitoring depth, alerting thresholds and runbook
- structure back to the build team via the CloudOps Lead, so gaps found during HyperCare are closed rather than carried into steady state
- Infrastructure as Code - authoring, reviewing and maintaining IaC (Terraform,
- Bicep or ARM templates) and reusable modules to provision and manage environments consistently and repeatably
- Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) &
- Deployment Automation - building and maintaining pipelines, scripted remediation and workflow automation to reduce manual effort and operational toil
- Observability &
- Monitoring - designing and maintaining monitoring, logging, alerting and dashboards to safeguard platform health, performance and reliability
- FinOps &
- Cost Governance - maintaining and improving cost dashboards, tag governance and rightsizing from transition onward,



so cost visibility is sustained rather than eroded after go-live

Key Competencies And Qualifications Required

- Minimum of 5-7 years in a hands-on cloud engineering or cloud operations role, including production support of live customer environments
- Demonstrable experience as a third-line or senior escalation point for complex technical issues
- Deep, hands-on experience operating and engineering Microsoft Azure platforms
- Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) capability - Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates - including authoring and maintaining reusable modules
- Microsoft AZ-104, AZ-305 certification, with demonstrable experience operating production public cloud environments
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g.

Azure

DevOps, GitHub Actions) for infrastructure and application deployment

- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g. PowerShell, Python, Azure CLI) for scripted remediation and toil reduction
- Cloud cost optimization and FinOps principles - managing and reporting on cloud spend, tag governance, and driving cost efficiency for customers.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
- Willingness to share knowledge and support less experienced engineers
- Transparent written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences, including customer-facing ticket updates and reporting
- Ability to plan and implement change safely in production environments -change agent and ambassador
- Plans, priorities and completes tasks with conflicting priorities
- Service level management - meeting SLAs/SLOs and contractual commitments
- ITIL certification and/or experience
- Experience with cloud observability and monitoring platforms (e.g.

Azure

Monitor, Log Analytics, Datadog or equivalent)
