Veritas Furniture is looking for a skilled AutoCAD Draughtsman to join our Kolkata manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and design layouts for furniture products, supporting both the design and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare 2D/3D drawings, layouts, and technical schematics for furniture products using AutoCAD
- Convert design concepts and sketches from the design team into precise working drawings
- Create cutting lists, assembly drawings, and shop floor drawings for production
- Modify and update existing drawings based on design changes or client requirements
- Coordinate with production, design, and quality teams to ensure drawings match manufacturing capabilities
- Maintain accurate records and version control of all drawings and revisions
- Ensure drawings comply with dimensional standards and specifications
- Support site measurements and prepare drawings for custom/bespoke furniture orders as needed
Requirements
- Diploma/ITI in Mechanical, Civil, or Draughtsman trade (or equivalent) preferred
- 1–3 years of experience as an AutoCAD Draughtsman, preferably in furniture, interiors, or manufacturing
- Robust proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting essential; 3D knowledge is a plus)
- Good understanding of furniture materials, joinery, and manufacturing processes
- Ability to read and interpret design sketches and technical specifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements
- Basic knowledge of MS Office/Excel for documentation
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SketchUp, SolidWorks, or other 3D design software
- Familiarity with furniture manufacturing processes (carpentry, upholstery, modular furniture)
- Prior experience working directly with production/shop floor teams
