The Commercial team sits at the heart of Officeworks’ growth agenda. This function brings together customer needs, product innovation, services, supplier partnerships, merchandise planning, and channel growth to shape what Officeworks sells, how it competes, and the value it delivers across Retail, B2B, Government, and Education. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the business’s most commercially impactful areas. The team plays a key role in evolving Officeworks’ product and service offering, accelerating growth in high-potential channels (such as B2B and Education), expanding private label and exclusive ranges, strengthening supplier partnerships, and unlocking emerging category opportunities across areas like technology, gaming, mobility, VR, print, installation, telco, and managed services.

You will help build commercial capability from the ground up, shaping scalable ways of working, strengthening planning and decision-making, and driving outcomes that impact sales, margin, customer experience, inventory performance, and long-term growth.

Why this role exists: The Associate Pricing & Supplier Performance Analyst exists to provide accurate analysis and operational support across retail pricing and supplier commercial activity. The role helps maintain competitive prices and protect margin by analyzing cost prices, retail prices, competitor movements and supplier trading terms.

The role translates approved decisions into accurate price changes, completes pricing and ticketing checks and produces exception reporting and negotiation analysis. It also contributes to better data, automation and workflow improvements that increase the speed, quality and control of pricing and Better Buying activity.

Where you will make a difference:

Pricing and Competitor Analysis:

- Analyze cost-price, retail-price, margin and trading data to identify pricing risks, anomalies and commercial opportunities.
- Complete competitor price checks using approved market-data sources.
- Validate competitor product matches and investigate material price differences before producing recommendations.
- Monitor competitor movements, priority products and promotional activity to support timely pricing responses.
- Prepare clear analysis and reporting that translates complex pricing data into practical commercial insights.

Price Change Execution:

- Prepare, validate and load approved price-change files into SAP and supporting pricing systems.
- Confirm product, price, effective-date and channel information before releasing price changes.
- Coordinate price changes across store ticketing, digital channels and promotional materials within agreed timeframes.
- Complete post-load validation and reconciliation checks to confirm approved prices have been implemented correctly.
- Investigate pricing discrepancies and resolve or escalate data, system and execution issues.
- Maintain accurate records of price changes, approvals, exceptions and validation outcomes.

Better Buying and Supplier Analysis:

- Analyze supplier costs, rebates, trading terms and margin drivers to identify potential value leakage and improvement opportunities.
- Support the assessment of supplier cost-price increase requests by preparing cost, market and margin-impact analysis.
- Produce supplier profiles, cost models and analytical packs to support preparation for supplier negotiations.
- Prepare exception reporting that identifies missing terms, unrecovered costs, rebate variances and other commercial anomalies.
- Track agreed supplier and cost-price actions, maintaining accurate records of expected and delivered value.
- Support the adoption of standard negotiation playbooks, analytical methods and Better Buying tools.

Pricing Governance and Quality Control:

- Apply enterprise pricing policies, approval authorities and data-quality controls across all assigned pricing activity.
- Complete pricing, ticketing and promotional checks designed to support compliance with the Competition and Consumer Act 2010, the Australian Consumer Law and internal requirements.
- Monitor price accuracy, data quality, ticketing volumes and delivery against agreed service levels.
- Investigate exception reports and resolve flagged variances within agreed timeframes.
- Escalate material commercial, compliance, data or delivery risks through the appropriate channels.




- Maintain clear documentation and audit evidence for pricing and Better Buying activities.

Platforms and Continuous Improvement:

- Identify recurring manual effort, data issues and process friction across pricing and Better Buying workflows.
- Contribute to the design, testing and implementation of platform, reporting and automation improvements.
- Build and maintain standard templates, reports and analytical tools that improve consistency and efficiency.
- Document processes, controls and working instructions to support reliable execution and capability development.
- Monitor implemented improvements and recommend further changes based on performance and user feedback.

Who you will be working with:

- Category and Commercial Teams: Partner with Category Management, Category Planning and Finance teams to clarify analytical requirements and provide decision support for pricing and Category-led supplier negotiations.
- Operational and Data Partners: Collaborate with Store Operations, Technology and Data, and Product Data teams to coordinate, validate and load price files and maintain data accuracy.
- Risk and Compliance Partners: Work alongside Legal, Risk and Compliance teams to perform pricing, ticketing and regulatory compliance checks, investigate flagged variances and escalate material risks.
- External Market Providers: Act as the primary technical point of contact for competitor-pricing and market-data providers as well as analytics and automation vendors.

What success looks like:

- Analysis Accuracy and Rigour: Delivers high accuracy across all pricing, cost-price and better-buying analytical outputs, directly enabling informed category and commercial decision-making.
- Delivery SLA Performance: Achieves target service level agreements for competitor price checks, priority analysis and price-file loading timelines.
- Execution and File Quality: Maintains high price-file load accuracy, ensuring seamless execution across SAP, digital channels and store ticketing systems.
- Compliance and Governance: Achieves target pricing and regulatory compliance rates through rigorous checks, accurate exception reporting and swift resolution of flagged variances within SLA.

Essential:

- Education: Relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics or a related discipline (or equivalent practical retail, commercial or analytical experience).
- Experience: 2–4+ years of experience in pricing, commercial analytics, category support, procurement analytics or a related commercial analytical role.
- Technical Capability: Strong proficiency in Excel, data analysis, data visualization and working with large datasets.
- Domain Knowledge: Working knowledge of retail pricing, cost prices, trading terms, category economics and competitor price checking methodologies.
- Systems Knowledge: Understanding of price-file preparation, loading workflows and system controls (e.g., SAP or supporting retail pricing platforms).
- Analytical Problem Solving: Capability to build accurate exception reports, investigate flagged variances and translate complex data into practical commercial insights.
- Governance and Compliance: Knowledge of pricing, ticketing and regulatory compliance controls (e.g., Competition and Consumer Act 2010, Australian Consumer Law).
- Continuous Improvement: Ability to support repeatable reporting, automation workflows and platform improvement builds.

Preferred:

- Experience operating within an omnichannel retail, FMCG or fast-paced commercial trading workplace.
- Hands-on exposure to automated market-data platforms or analytics and automation tools.
- Experience preparing negotiation packs, supplier cost models or value-leakage analysis for Category-led negotiations.
