About The Role

SaveLIFE Foundation is seeking an experienced and mission-driven leader to spearhead the organisation’s Trauma Care & Health Systems portfolio, with a particular focus on translating the Supreme Court of India’s landmark 2026 recognition of the Right to Trauma Care as an integral part of the Right to

Life under Article 21 into a measurable and scalable system across India.

Role and Responsibilities

I.

Right To Trauma

Care – National Implementation

- Translate the Supreme Court’s directions into a coherent national trauma-care implementation strategy for SLF;

- Develop State, district and highway-level implementation roadmaps;





- Identify gaps in trauma-care systems and prioritise high-impact interventions;

- Support governments in developing time-bound implementation plans and mechanisms for monitoring compliance;

II. Trauma-Care Network Development

- Establish (and lead) guidelines for assessments of existing trauma-care infrastructure, hospitals and referral networks;

- Develop models for trauma-centre designation, grading and referral;

- Adapt and disseminate guidelines among various relevant stakeholders for facility upgradation based on levels of care;

III. Ambulance & Pre-Hospital Emergency Care

- Develop a framework and guidelines for assessment and repositioning of ambulance networks
- on National and State Highways (using crash, population, geography and travel-time data available);

- Establish and monitor response-time and performance benchmarks;

- Support integration of ambulance systems with 112, GPS/VLTD and relevant emergency-response platforms;

IV.

Trauma

Training & Capacity Building

- Develop a national trauma-care capacity-building strategy on BLS, ATLS and other recognised trauma-care training programmes, as appropriate;

- Adapt or develop training and competency frameworks for prehospital and hospital trauma care;

- Establish systems for certification, refresher training, quality assurance and impact

- Measurement;

V. Government & Strategic Partnerships

- Build, manage and represent at Ministry of Health & Family Welfare; Ministry of Road Transport & Highways; Government and private hospitals; Medical colleges and trauma centres; Emergency medicine

and trauma-care professional bodies; NGOs and civil society organisations; and other agencies

Qualified Experience

- 10–15+ years of progressive professional experience,



including direct clinical experience in an Emergency Room (ER), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), or dedicated Trauma Department.

- Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering medical or clinical training is essential.

- Experience in the public health, healthcare, or development sector is highly desirable.

- Postgraduate qualification in one or more of the following areas:

Public Health, Emergency Medicine, Trauma Care, Healthcare/Hospital Management, Public Policy, Development Studies, Health Systems, or a related discipline.

- An MBBS/medical qualification, MPH, MHA, MBA Healthcare or equivalent is desirable.
