Founded in 2016 by Simran Lal and Raul Rai, Nicobar is a modern, mindful, design-led lifestyle brand from India.

“We wanted to create a new Indian sensibility that wasn’t necessarily Westernised.”

We’re reimagining a contemporary Indian way of living, dressing, and looking at the world—rooted in culture, shaped by design, and guided by intention. At Nicobar, we believe in culture as much as commerce, and that how we build is just as important as what we build.

Our studio is tucked away in Tulsi Farms, Chhatarpur, Delhi. Nestled among trees, seasonal gardens, a citrus grove, and our beloved dogs Nico & Dot, we call it “ the Treehouse. ” It earned its name when our architect reworked the blueprint to protect every single tree on the land. It’s a space where creativity brims and energy flows.

Domain & personal skills required

- Has experience of in handling dining category independently -end to end operations and oversee Textile, Décor & Wellness with the team.




- Ability to build a pipeline of strong vendors for fulfilling production requirements on a timely manner while ensuring quality & design are priority
- Possesses good product knowledge & who is keen to make career in sourcing and production
- Willing to take initiatives, is collaborative, energetic, and self-motivated person

Role & Responsibilities

- Product Innovation, fabric development & Newness, product cost & Negotiation, Product Development.
- Identify Vendors and assess them on product base, willingness to partner, acceptance to commercials, quality/ Delivery. Develop and agile vendor base for the brand.
- Scout new products that complement the brand across vendors and present to design teams in tandem with the season range plan.
- Understanding of business for the category.
- Partner with the design teams in developing ideas into physical samples.
- Insight on the brand strategy- market positioning, target customer base.
- Have Clarity on business, numbers, and their flow- this is the basis for on boarding vendors and mandatory requirement.
- To be able to adapt self and the factories to a frequent last minute change scenario – a rapid react module.
- While working on developments, educate the team on the outsourcing challenges – in terms of being more upfront and clearer on parting production information and expectations to a level so that the product is first time right.
