Role Description The Assistant Professor –

- Pharmacognosy will be responsible for delivering lectures, practical sessions, and tutorials in Pharmacognosy and related subjects to undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy students. Day-to-day activities include preparing lesson plans, developing course materials, guiding students in laboratory work, and supporting academic projects and research activities. The role involves evaluating student performance through assignments, examinations, and practical assessments, and participating in curriculum development in line with regulatory and industry requirements. The faculty member will also contribute to departmental activities, academic events, and quality initiatives within the institution. This is a full-time,



on-site role based at Sagar Group of Institutions –
- SISTec in Bhopal.

Qualifications

- Strong subject knowledge in Pharmacognosy and related areas of Pharmaceutical Sciences, with the ability to teach theory and practical courses effectively.
- Competence in academic planning, curriculum development, and use of modern teaching-learning methods, including educational technology and blended learning tools.
- Ability to design, conduct, and guide research projects, including literature review, experimental work, data analysis, and preparation of publications.
- Effective communication, mentoring, and classroom management skills, with a student-centered and inclusive approach to teaching.
- Postgraduate degree in Pharmacy (M.Pharm in Pharmacognosy or closely related specialization) from a recognized institution
- Ph.D. in Pharmacognosy or Pharmaceutical Sciences is preferred.
- Familiarity with regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g., PCI, AICTE, university norms) and good academic governance practices.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues, participate in departmental and institutional initiatives, and contribute to co-curricular and extension activities.
- Prior teaching or academic experience in a pharmacy college is an advantage; industry or research experience related to natural products and herbal drugs is beneficial.
