Job Summary

The Assistant Manager - Transportation &

- Logistics is responsible for managing the day-to-day transportation and logistics operations for construction equipment across project locations. The role ensures timely mobilization and demobilization of equipment, efficient fleet utilization, transporter coordination, statutory compliance, and cost-effective logistics operations. The incumbent will work closely with Operations, SCM, Maintenance, Commercial, Finance, and Project teams to ensure smooth equipment movement and high customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Transportation Planning &
- Fleet Management - Plan and coordinate equipment mobilization and demobilization activities. Prepare transportation schedules based on project requirements. Monitor fleet utilization and ensure timely movement of equipment. Minimize equipment idle time through effective transportation planning.

- Heavy Equipment Logistics - Coordinate transportation of cranes, piling rigs, excavators, boom lifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers, graders, compactors, forklifts, and other construction equipment. Plan routes considering permits, road restrictions, and ODC requirements. Ensure safe loading, unloading, and transportation of equipment. Coordinate with project teams for timely equipment delivery.

- Vendor &

- Transporter Management - Coordinate with transport vendors for equipment movement. Negotiate transportation rates within approved guidelines. Monitor transporter performance and ensure SLA compliance. Maintain vendor records and support vendor evaluation.

- Compliance &

- Documentation - Ensure compliance with RTO regulations, permits, insurance, and statutory requirements. Coordinate ODC approvals and maintain transportation documentation.



Ensure adherence to EHS and company safety standards. Support transportation audits and compliance reviews.

- Cost Control &

- Logistics Optimization - Monitor transportation costs and optimize logistics expenses. Track freight costs and identify cost-saving opportunities. Ensure effective vehicle utilization and route optimization. Support preparation of transportation budgets and cost reports.

- Team Supervision &

- Operational Excellence - Supervise logistics coordinators and transportation executives. Monitor daily logistics operations and KPI achievement. Provide training and guidance on transportation processes and safety. Drive continuous improvement in logistics operations.

- Cross-Functional Coordination &

- MIS - Coordinate with Operations, SCM, Maintenance, Finance, Commercial, and Project teams for timely equipment deployment. Resolve transportation-related operational issues. Prepare logistics MIS, fleet utilization reports, transportation cost reports, and performance dashboards. Support management with operational analysis and improvement initiatives.

Skills Required

- Experience in heavy equipment transportation and logistics.

- Knowledge of ODC movement, permits, RTO regulations, and statutory compliance.

- Experience in fleet planning, transporter coordination, and freight management.

- Proficiency in SAP/ERP, GPS fleet tracking systems, and Advanced MS Excel.

- Solid analytical, planning, negotiation, and coordination skills.

- Good leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

Qualifications
