About the Role:

- Develop, implement, and monitor fire safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans across the facility.
n
- Ensure compliance with applicable fire safety regulations, statutory requirements, and company standards.
n
- Conduct regular fire risk assessments, safety audits, inspections, and gap analyses to identify and mitigate fire hazards.
n
- Maintain and monitor the effectiveness of fire detection, alarm, suppression, hydrant, sprinkler, and firefighting systems.
n
- Coordinate periodic testing, preventive maintenance, and certification of all fire protection equipment and systems.
n
- Lead emergency preparedness initiatives, including fire drills, mock exercises, evacuation plans, and incident response activities.
n
- Investigate fire incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
n
- Liaise with local fire authorities, regulatory agencies, insurance representatives, and external emergency service providers.
n
- Conduct fire safety training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
n
- Manage and develop the fire safety team, ensuring competency, readiness, and compliance with established procedures.
n
- Monitor contractor activities to ensure adherence to fire safety requirements, permit-to work systems, and safe work practices.
n
- Maintain fire safety records, statutory documentation, audit reports, and compliance registers.
n
- Support business continuity and crisis management initiatives related to fire and emergency situations.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fire safety performance and emergency response capability.

nQualifications

n

n
- Bachelor's Degree in Fire Engineering / Fire & Safety Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
n
- Diploma in Fire & Safety Management from a recognized institution.
n

n

n

nRequired Skills

n

n

n
- Certification in Fire Prevention, Fire Protection Systems, or Industrial Safety.
n
- Knowledge of National Building Code (NBC), Factory Act, Gujarat Fire Safety Regulations, and relevant Indian Standards.
n
- Certification in First Aid, Emergency Response, and Incident Command System (preferred).

nResponsibilities – Fire Compliance, Licenses & Certifications

n

n

n
- Ensure compliance with all applicable fire safety regulations, statutory requirements, National Building Code (NBC), Factories Act, Insurance Standards, and local Fire Department guidelines.
n
- Obtain, renew, and maintain all fire safety licenses, No Objection Certificates (NOCs), approvals, permits, and statutory clearances required for the facility.
n
- Coordinate with Fire Authorities, Government Agencies, Industrial Development Authorities, and other regulatory bodies for inspections, audits, certifications,



and compliance reviews.
n
- Maintain validity of Fire NOC, Occupancy-related fire approvals, hazardous material storage permits, and other statutory certifications applicable to the site.
n
- Prepare and submit statutory reports, compliance documentation, and periodic returns to regulatory authorities within prescribed timelines.
n
- Ensure all fire protection systems, firefighting equipment, hydrant networks, sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and emergency response infrastructure are inspected, tested, and certified by authorized agencies as per legal requirements.
n
- Lead closure of observations arising from regulatory inspections, third-party audits, insurance risk assessments, and internal compliance reviews.
n
- Maintain comprehensive records of licenses, permits, inspection reports, calibration certificates, testing records, and compliance documentation for audit readiness.
n
- Track changes in fire safety legislation, standards, and regulatory requirements and ensure timely implementation across the facility.
n
- Support external audits related to EHS, customer requirements, insurance compliance, sustainability assessments, and statutory certifications.
n
